Livingston Academy senior football player Raven Carpenter has earned a spot on the 2020 Tennessee Football Coaches Association’s All-State Team at the position of wide receiver.
Carpenter also played at quarterback from time to time for the Wildcats, filling in whenever needed for Nathan Cowgill following the injury of starter Parker Coleman.
“I always told them I was not a quarterback,” Carpenter would laugh. “I wanted to catch the ball, not throw it, but I tried to do what I could to help the team when I could. I want to go to college and play and am still looking.”
His coach, Bruce Lamb, had nothing but praise for the senior player.
“Raven played with an outstanding attitude, always gave us the best he had, and would do anything if it would help the team,” Lamb pointed out. “I think he would have tried punting if we asked him to. He’s just that kind of a young man and we wish him the very best.”
Three other players from the region made the team, including quarterback Axel Aldino from DeKalb County, wide receiver Landon Whittemore from Macon County, and defensive back Ethan Jenkins from Macon County.
