Livingston Academy Golf plays at McMinnville

“Overall, I feel good about the opportunities that they have. They’re all really talented,” head coach Buddy Sells proudly stated.

Livingston Academy’s golf team has been putting in a lot of hard work and dedication this season, showing improvements in every match. It’s leading to more opportunities with every improvement, especially for seniors Cora Duke and Hayden Ledbetter who have recently received offers to play golf for University of Tennessee Southern.

Both the boys and girls teams played Monday, Aug. 30 at McMinnville Country Club. The boys played against Cookeville High School, Warren County, and White County. The girls played against Cookeville High School.

Hayden Ledbetter led the LA boys with a 35, finishing 1 under par. Bryson Fletcher followed with a 38, Teddy Tudhope 45, and Tayshawn Hayes 45. The boys lost to Cookeville (152), but beat Warren County (174) and White County (198).

Halle Ledbetter led the girls with a 44. Cora Duke followed with a 45. The girls faced a tight match with Cookeville.

The team will play today, Tuesday, Sept. 7 in the Keith Maxwell Tournament in McMinnville.
