Lady Cats’ first champs honored

Members of the 1989-90 Lady Wildcats, a team that posted an incredible 31-1 record in winning Livingston Academy’s first TSSAA basketball crown was honored Friday night in ceremonies at the halftime of the boys game with Pickett County. From the team, four players topped the 1,000-point mark and eight went on to play collegiate ball. The team went on in the 90-91 season to win 55 games in a row and were ranked as high at 4th nationally by USA Today. On hand with Coach Larry Looper were Lesley Smith Riddle, Elizabeth Maxwell, Shona Davis Smith, Amellia Adcock Melton, Amy Brown, Marla Shell Beason, Dana Mabry, Jennifer Copeland Eldridge, Lori Miller Mosley, Christy Curtis Key, and Michele Ringley Hicks.
