Livingston Academy Soccer played in the first round of the regional tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at home against Anderson County, losing 0-1. This brought the team’s season to an end with a record of 14-3-1 in regular season play.

Head coach David Sadler shared, “I felt like we played hard and we gave it everything we had. Anderson was a very good team too. We made some mistakes. There were some calls that didn’t go our way, and in the end we weren’t able to finish as well as I thought we should have.

He continued, “We had an excellent season. These girls came in and really excelled. They got better every game and throughout the district and the region we were definitely the team to beat and everybody knew it. I am extremely proud of their performances and their efforts.”

The team will be losing seven seniors this year. All seven have played soccer for Livingston Academy for the last four years. They are Emma Sadler, Malyne Copeland, Jayda Hammock, Maylee Bilbrey, Estie Holman, Analese Milligan, and Mahalah Boone.

“This group of seniors is very special. They are leaders on and off the field. They will be truly missed and we wish all of the best in their future endeavors,” Coach Sadler stated.

Coach Sadler has shared that he hopes for next year’s team to be the state champions.

“I’m hoping for the same intensity and determination that we had this year. That we can continue to improve and take this program even farther than what we have in the past 3 years,” he stated.
