Overton County Jr. Wildcats football team has put up a fight this season, showing the true meaning of teamwork in each game.

The Jr. Wildcats played at White County on Tuesday, Sept. 28, losing 52-14. The team struggled as their quarterback got injured early in the game after already facing challenges due to their starting right tackle suffering a broken leg a couple weeks ago. Despite this, Matthew Slayton and Jackson Boles were each able to score a touchdown.

“We lost a lot of depth to White County from the start, after they returned a kickoff. Offensively we struggled to get things going,” head coach Kevin Coffee stated.

This wrapped up the season for the Jr. Wildcats as they finished 4-3.

“I’m very proud of this team. We’ve still got a lot to build on. This group has got a lot of first year players. There’s a lot of good incoming players in this group once they get to high school,” Coach Coffee stated.
