Roy Pennington has informed me that there will be a gathering of auto enthusiasts on the Livingston square this Saturday, April 3.

Roy’s wildcat cruise-ins last year gave an automotive outlet for everyone missing the car shows cancelled by the coronavirus. So, he is still inviting everyone to bring their rides to the Livingston square on the first Saturday of the month.

Also, Vickie White and Scott Hunter have informed me that two or three people have stepped up to express interest in being the volunteer coordinator for the official Overton County Cruise-In, which the Town of Livingston allows to block off three sides of the square and, through Livingston Police Department, provides portable barricades.

So this monthly event may be returning soon. The Overton County Cruise-In is usually held April through October on the second Saturday of each of those months.

Whether these will start back in a couple weeks will not only depend on having a set coordinator, or co-coordinators, but also will be determined by the cases of COVID-19 in the area. The reason the Overton County Cruise-In went on hiatus last year was because of the coronavirus shutting down all such events.
