All-star UC Outlaws Pee Wee team to play in Battle of Rocky Top

Upper Cumberland Outlaws Pee Wee football players will play in the Battle in Rocky Top on November 19 to 21.

Coach Clint Melton stated, “Our Overton County Outlaws Pee Wee football team finished their season 8-1 and won the Middle Tennessee Youth Football Conference Championship a few weeks ago. Several of our players were invited to participate on the Upper Cumberland Outlaws All Star Team that will play in the Battle in Rocky Top.”

Taking advantage of the invitation will be expensive. The entry fee for tournament has already been donated and covered for the players by a local business, according to Melton.

“Each of our players are required to have a hotel room in Knoxville for 2 nights during the tournament,” Melton stated.

Donations are being accepted to help pay the expense of the hotel rooms. With 13 players on the team, and hotel rooms are running around $100 per night, the team is trying to raise $2,600 for the rooms.

Upper Cumberland Outlaws All Star team is a travel football team and is not affiliated with the Overton County Outlaw Football team or program.

Overton County Outlaws Football President Michael Hayes and Head Coach Joe Smith clarified that this team is an outside team made up of a few Overton County football players along with football players from surrounding counties to form this team.
