A Monroe man sustained injury when his vehicle was struck by an Overton County school bus.

According to Tennessee Highway Patrol’s preliminary incident information, William Davis, 35, of Monroe, stopped at Kenneth Linder Lane awaiting a school bus to turn right from Delta Country Lane onto Kenneth Linder Lane around 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15.

As the 2012 Bluebird bus, driven by Ronald Hunt, 71, of Alpine, turned, the right rear corner struck the front right corner of Davis’ 2008 Chevrolet CK1500.

According to THP, Hunt was unaware the bus had struck the truck. Davis followed the bus and notified the bus driver of the collision. Both vehicles pulled to the side of the road approximately two miles east on Jamestown Highway.

Minor damage was done to both vehicles, but Davis was injured.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

The incident was investigated by Trooper Darren Butler.
