Travis was a member of First United Methodist Church of Cookeville. He loved people and surrounded himself with family, church, and friends. He will be remembered as quick witted and sharp as a tack, with the ability to spin any recollection into a grand story.

In 1965, he moved to Livingston to accept the position of president for the newly chartered First National Bank of Livingston, which was founded by Millard Vaughn Oakley and a group of investors. In 1971 Travis, along with Henry McCall and Bill Looper, started Financial Institution Services, Inc. (FISI). The purpose was to allow banks to offer packaged banking services to their customers.
Born April 13, 1931, in rural New Albany, MS, he was the son of the late Annie and Harrison Anderson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest son, Harrison; a brother, Quay; and a sister, Ruby.
He is survived by his wife Charlovene Looper; a daughter, Susan Napolitano and her husband Art of Franklin; a son, Wesley Anderson of Lebanon; and two grandsons, Corey Napolitano of Franklin and Connor Napolitano, of Chandler, AZ.
