Robert Houston Padgett
Funeral services for Mr. Robert Houston Padgett, 87, of Monroe, will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 13, 2022, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Aron Dillion and Bro. Tim Beaty officiating. Burial will follow in Sylvester Robbins Cemetery, with Military Honors provided at graveside by the Overton County Veterans Honor Guard.
The family will welcome friends on Wednesday evening, Jan. 12 from 5 until 9 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m.
Mr. Padgett passed from this life on Sunday evening, January 9, 2022 from his residence.
Robert was a member of the McDonalds Chapel United Methodist Church, a member of the Eagle Creek Masonic Lodge #530, and served his country in the United States Army from 1954-1958. He enjoyed fishing, hunting squirrel and dry land fish, and riding to the lake and back roads of the county. He was very knowledgeable in history and studying genealogy.
Born May 16, 1934, he was the son of the late Wood and Delphi Reagan Padgett.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a son, Michael Padgett; two brothers, Jim and Rod Padgett; and two sisters, Georgia Smith and Gracie Chambers.
Robert leaves behind his loving wife, Jessie Price Padgett of Monroe; two daughters, Robin Vaughn and husband Johnny of Livingston and Dana Halsell and husband Stormy of Rickman; three grandchildren, Layne Clark, Ellie Halsell, and Snow Halsell; and a sister, Martha Brown of Hilham;.
Pallbearers to serve are Layne Clark, Junior Hill, Johnny Hill, Ronnie Smith, and Kevin Norrod.
Honorary pallbearers are Coy Padgett, Tommy Crabtree, Doyle Smith, and Jeff Flowers.
