Joan Exum Pendergrass
Funeral services for Mrs. Joan Exum Pendergrass, 79, of Hendersonville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Hamilton Funeral Home in Chattanooga with Bro. Mike McPhearson officiating. Burial followed in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Pendergrass passed from this life Tuesday morning, June 16, 2020, from her residence.
Joan loved her family, spending time with her church family, and adored her children. She was a people person. She loved working and talking with others.
Born September 12, 1940, in Hamilton County, she was the daughter of the late Fred Earl and Mildred Henson Exum.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pendergrass was preceded in death by her two brothers, James Fred Exum and Leonard Exum.
Mrs. Pendergrass leaves behind her loving husband, Arley Randall Pendergrass I of Hendersonville; two sons, Arley Randall Pendergrass II of Clarksville and Michael Pendergrass of Richmond, VA; a goddaughter, Wendy Speck and husband Chris of Livingston; seven grandchildren, Arley Randall Pendergrass III, Micayla Pendergrass, Maddie Speck, Emma Grace Speck, Morgan Speck, Katie Alice Speck, and Joshua Pendergrass; and two sisters, Jane Coffett of Chattanooga and Linda Seay of Rossville, GA.
Pallbearers were Arley Pendergrass III, Michael Pendergrass, Randy Pendergrass, David Gray, Tyler Propheter, and Will Fulton.
