James “Jack” L. Lewis, Sr.
Graveside services for Mr. James “Jack” L. Lewis, Sr., 103, of Livingston, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021, from Matthew’s Cemetery on Windle Community Road with Bro. Kerry Duke officiating.
James passed from this life Saturday, January 2, 2021, from Livingston Regional Hospital.
James worked in construction and was a member of West End Church of Christ in Livingston.
He was married to Lucille Thompson for 35 years until her death in 1973 and to Marie Norris White for 35 years until her death in 2011.
Born August 20, 1917, in Overton County., he was one of 13 siblings born to Jesse Golden Lewis and Belle Reed Lewis.
James was the last remaining sibling of the musical Lewis family, and he loved telling stories of all he had seen and done through his many years.
He is survived by his seven children, James (Margie) Lewis, Ralph (Laura) Lewis, Faye (Jim) Key, Ann (Tommy) Pelham, Danny (Cindy) Lewis, Bruce (Tammy) Lewis, and Brenda (Bill) Brooks; 15 grandchildren, Tonia (Joe) Stephens, Ginger (Steve) Ricketts, Dyan (JD) Tyre, Brian (DeShayne) Lewis, Karen Key, Lori (Mike) Austin, Ellery (Amanda) Lewis, Reysheid (Kristin) Mata, Dylan Lewis, Christopher Lewis, Ronnie Winningham, Debbie (Dale) Wainwright, Kim (Todd) Hess, Sam (Tero) Brooks, and John (Kristi) Brooks; 23 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
