Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Garrett, 96, of the Vine Ridge Community of Crawford, were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021, from George M. Phillips Cemetery with Rev. Billy Joe Hedgecough officiating. Interment followed.
Mrs. Garrett passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at her home.
Mrs. Garrett was a seamstress. She loved to make quilts and embroider beautiful pillow cases and table scarves. She loved her flowers and working in her flower beds and garden.
She was a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.
Born December 2, 1924, in Crawford, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Bertha Skinner Hargis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Garrett; a son, Ronnie Garrett; four sisters, Marie Baerner, Ilene VanHorn, Maxine Copeland, and Beatrice Barnes; a brother, Boyd Hargis; three nieces, Judy Tucker, Jenny (and Ed) Graham; and a nephew, Roger Garrett.
She is survived by her grandson, Chad Garrett of the Vine Ridge Community; a daughter-in-law, Mary Garrett of the Vine Ridge Community; two nieces, Joyce (Jimmy) Bullock of the Vine Ridge Community and Connie (Billy) Illy of Greenfield, IN; five nephews, Danny (Beverly) Barnes, Larry Barnes, and Donnie Barnes, all of Mooresville, IN, Billy Hargis of O’Fallon, IL, and Dewey Hargis of Monterey; and a niece-in-law, Brilla Garrett of Monterey.
