Chester was a butcher by trade for most of his life, but his true passion was his farm and family. In his retirement he spent most of his time tending to his cattle farm in Hilham. You could often find him sitting on his porch overlooking the hills and pastures counting cows and looking for new calves, as well as all the other animals that would appear.

He was always a bit of an outlaw and enjoyed making Tennessee moonshine for locals, as well as people from other states. It was also used as a cough syrup by many. On Saturday nights he often met with his friends for the local gambling games. He enjoyed playing poker and would play for hours throughout the night.

Chester loved and took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. You always got ice cream money when you went to visit Pa Chester. Chester was one of a kind and will truly be missed by everyone who knew him.

Born July 25, 1939, he was the son of the late Comer and Ella (Short) Boles.

In addition to his parents, he was also proceeded in death by two daughters, Sandra Boles Adams and Lisa Boles; a son-in-law, Larry Cyphers; four brothers, Dewy Short, Tony Short, Archie Boles, and Clifford Boles; and four sisters, Kotene Boles, Geneva Boles Edwards, Alpha Boles, and Beulah Boles Lee.
