A Rickman man died Tuesday, Jan. 10 following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 111 near Sulphur Road.
According to Tennessee Highway Patrol’s preliminary incident report, around 6:45 p.m., William C. Gorman, 81, of Rickman, was driving a 2005 Ford 500 north on Highway 111 and turned left into the crossover and attempted to cross the southbound lanes of Highway 111 onto Sulphur Road.
Dakota T. Leezer, 30, of Cookeville, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox south in the right hand lane of Highway 111 when the Ford crossed into his path.
The Ford was struck in the right side, rotated clockwise, and came to rest on the corner near the intersection of Highway 111 and Sulphur Road. The Chevy came to rest on the roadway of Highway 111.
Gorman, who was notwearing a seatbelt, was transported to Livingston Regional Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Leezer, who also was not wearing a seatbelt, was injured in the crash.
The incident was investigated by Troopers Matthews, Slaven, and Russell.
