A Livingston man was injured Wednesday, July 3 when he ran into a hay spear.
According to Tennessee Highway Patrol’s preliminary incident information, Roy Ogletree, 53, of Livingston, was riding a 1986 Harley Davidson motorcycle on Upper Hilham Road around 2:50 p.m. when he negotiated a right hand curve and encountered the front hay spear of a 2015 John Deere Model 542 tractor driven by Harold Gore, 77, of Upper Hilham Road.
Ogletree struck the hay spear, which was sticking out in the roadway, and then lost control of the motorcycle and traveled off the left side of the roadway, coming to final rest facing south.
Ogletree was transported by Overton County EMS to Erlanger Hospital.
No charges were filed in the incident, which was investigated by Trooper Tyler McCulley.
