A two-vehicle collision on Monterey Highway around 3 p.m. Sunday, June 28 resulted in injuries for the two drivers and a passenger.

According to Tennessee Highway Patrol’s preliminary incident information, Jacob Wood, 26, of Cookeville, was driving a 1990 Chevrolet S-10 north on Highway 84 when he exited the roadway to the right and struck a bluff. The S-10 re-entered the roadway and flipped an undetermined amount of times, striking a 2016 Toyota Sequoia in its lane.

Wood, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center and on to Vanderbilt Hospital in critical condition. He was in stable condition as of Thursday, July 2.

Charges are pending against Wood.

A passenger in the S-10, Donna Goodman, 60, of Cookeville, was apparently uninjured.

The driver of the Toyota, Dwight Graham, 55, of Asheville, NC, was injured in the collision. He was wearing a seatbelt.

His passenger, Aaron Graham, 23, of Asheville, NC, was also injured.
