An Upper Cumberland man is charged with three counts rape of a child following a multi-agency investigation.

Adam Jereco Haney, 32, of Newberry Lane, Hilham, was arrested Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Livingston District Attorney’s Office, according to 13th Judicial District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway.

The three victims are all under the age of 13 years-old, according to the arrest warrants.

Haney admitted to investigators he had sexual intercourse with one victim, and that the other two victims performed oral sex on him, the arrest warrants state.

He is being held in the Putnam County jail with a $750,000 bond.

“The investigators developed enough information to determine there was probable cause of the crimes,” Dunaway said. “We developed enough information to take out warrants for his arrest.”

Haney will appear in the Putnam County General Sessions Court January 27, 2020 to answer to the charges.

“The victims were children he had access to,” Dunaway said.

Cookeville Police Department Capt. Bobby Anderson said this is an ongoing investigation that’s being conducted by CPD Detective Heather Marshall, Tara Bates, CPD Victim Services Coordinator, Randal Slayton with the District Attorney’s Office, the Department of Children Services, the Upper Cumberland Child Advocacy Center, and the Overton County Sheriff’s Office.”

“Because of the efforts of multiple agencies working together for a common goal, Mr. Haney will be held accountable for his actions,” Anderson said. “Because this is still an ongoing investigation, we will not be releasing any further information at this time.”
