“Grantchester” season 5 begins this week on WCTE

Reverend Will Davenport (Tom Brittney) and Inspector Geordie Keating (Robson Green) return to Sunday nights for another round of mysteries on Season Five of “Grantchester”, airing over six Sundays on WCTE, beginning June 14 at 8 p.m.

WCTE has announced its schedule for this week.

Tuesday, June 9

7 p.m. – “John Sebastian Presents: Folk Rewind (My Music)”. A reunion of folk singers includes Barry McGuire, Roger McGuinn, and The Chad Mitchell Trio.

9 p.m. – “Celtic Thunder Ireland”. Celtic Thunder’s hits and Irish and Celtic fan favorites of the last decade are highlighted.

Wednesday, June 10

7 p.m. – “Nova: The Planets: Inner Worlds”. Planets are explored. Is there somewhere else in the solar system where life might flourish?

8:30 p.m. – “Nova: The Planets: Ice Worlds”. In the far reaches of the solar system, Uranus and Neptune dazzle with unexpected rings and moons.

Thursday, June 11

7 p.m. – “Magic Moments - The Best of ‘50s Pop (My Music)”. The McGuire Sisters, The Lennon Sisters, The Chordettes, The Four Aces, and more take the stage

9 p.m. – “Last of the Breed”. A once-in-a-lifetime concert event featuring Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and Ray Price.

10:30 p.m. – “Il Volo: Ten Years”. Il Volo perform “Grande Amore”, “Il Mondo”, and more hits in the ancient city of Matera, Italy.

Friday, June 12

9 p.m. – “The Plastic Problem: PBS NewsHour Presents” explores what is being done about single-use plastic.

Saturday, June 13

3:30 p.m. – “Magic Moments - The Best of ‘50s Pop (My Music)”.

5:30 p.m. – “John Denver: Country Boy”. The private life and public legacy of singer-songwriter and activist are explored.

7 p.m. – “50 Years with Peter, Paul and Mary”. The impact of the preeminent trio who brought folk music to America’s mass audiences is celebrated.

7 p.m. – “Nitty Gritty Dirt Band: 50 Years and Circlin’ Back”.

10:30 p.m. – “Classical Rewind (My Music)”. The greatest composers of all time and the origins of their music and compositions are explored.

Sunday, June 14

2:30 p.m. – “Chet Atkins: Certified Guitar Player”.

4 p.m. – “Downton Abbey, Season 6, Part 4”. Miss Baxter faces a dilemma, Anna and Mary rush to London, and Daisy continues to press her case.
