Carpenters Christmas memories to air on WCTE

“Carpenters: Close to You & Christmas Memories (My Music Presents)”, a music-filled documentary, traces the Carpenters’ career and features the duo’s top hits, airing at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 on WCTE.

WCTE has announced its schedule for this week.

Tuesday, Dec. 3

7 p.m. – “Il Volo: Ten Years”. Il Volo perform “Grande Amore”, “Il Mondo”, and more hits in the ancient city of Matera, Italy.

8:30 p.m. – “John Sebastian Presents: Folk Rewind (My Music)”. A reunion of folk singers includes Barry McGuire, Roger McGuinn, and The Chad Mitchell Trio.

Wednesday, Dec. 4

7 p.m. – “Nature: Equus: Story of the Horse: Origins”. The habits and biology of these majestic animals and a ride along with the world’s last nomadic tribes.

Thursday, Dec. 5

7 p.m. – “Mister Rogers: It’s You I Like” celebrates Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, the children’s series that premiered nationally 50 years ago.

8:30 p.m. – “John Fogerty: My 50 Year Trip”. The sounds and spirit of 1969 are recreated and John Fogerty’s musical journey is showcased.

Friday, Dec. 6

7 p.m. – “Chet Atkins: Certified Guitar Player”. Mark Knopfler, the Everly Brothers, Emmylou Harris, and Willie Nelson celebrate the guitar virtuoso.

8:30 p.m. – “John Denver: Country Boy”. The private life and public legacy of singer-songwriter and activist John Denver are explored.

Saturday, Dec. 7

12:30 p.m. – “Aretha Franklin Remembered (My Music)”. The legendary singer is remembered from her early days to her time as a musical powerhouse.

2 p.m. – “Rick Steves European Christmas”. Rick visits friends and families in England, France, Norway, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy to reveal their customs and practices of the holiday season.

4 p.m. – “John Sebastian Presents: Folk Rewind (My Music)”.

6 p.m. – “Carpenters: Close to You & Christmas Memories (My Music Presents)”. This music-filled documentary traces the Carpenters’ career and features the duo’s top hits.

8 p.m. – “Celtic Woman: Ancient Land”. Performed in a concert at Johnstown Castle in Wexford, Ireland.

10 p.m. – “Great Performances: An Intimate Evening with David Foster”. Celebrated musician and composer David Foster explores the music of his career with guest artists.
