ROY GENE BAYLESS
Funeral services for Mr. Roy Gene Bayless, 56, of Hilham, were conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home.
Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Jackson County, TN.

Mr. Bayless died Sunday, March 6, at his home.

Born November 21, 1954 in Odessa, TX, he was the son of the late Roy and Eva (King) Bayless. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Darryl Bayless; and his grandparents.

Survivors include his wife, Idona Bayless of Hilham; 2 sons, Roy Bayless II of Livingston and Donald Bayless of Washington; a daughter, Christy Bayless of Red Bluff, CA; 2 step-sons, Travis Wills of Hilham, and Justin Wills of Bonaire, GA; 2 sisters, Sue Turpenen of Madera, CA, and Barbra Bayless of Turlock, CA; 6 brothers, Mike Bayless and Doug Bayless of Fresno, CA, Steve Bayless of Kingsburg, CA, Robert Bayless, Brian Bayless, and Chris Saenz, all of Visalia, CA; and 20 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Travis Wills, Justin Wills, Brian Bayless, Chris Saenz, Ken Riggs, Kyle Hughs, and Michael Wayman.

RAYMOND CHAREST
Funeral services for Mr. Raymond Charest, 64, of Cookeville, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home, with Bro. Randy Prichard officiating.

The family has chosen cremation and no graveside services will be held.

Mr. Charest died Thursday, March 10, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a member of God’s Heritage Church.

Born October 27, 1946 in Lewiston, ME, he was the son of the late Rene and Marguerite (Fortin) Charest.

Survivors include his wife, Joline Charest; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Michael Woolf, Ann and D.J. Loudermilk, and Tina and Peter Hafford; a sister, Jackie Ouellette; 8 grandchildren, Seth, Joshua, Brandy, Zachary, Matthew, Adam, Kelliann, and Peter; and 5 great-grandchildren, Dominique, Jordan, D’Artagnon, Justice, and Olivia.

Pallbearers were Pete Hafford, Ryan Cotton, Seth Charest, Tyler Prichard, Matthew Loudermilk, and Adam Loudermilk.

MILDRED CLARICE (UPTON) GORE
Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Clarice (Upton) Gore, 91, of Hilham, were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2011 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home, with Bro. John Mabry officiating.

Burial was in Hilham Cemetery.

Mrs. Gore died Friday, March 11, at Livington Regional Hospital. She was a garment factory worker and member of Hilham Church of Christ.

Born March 27, 1919 in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Benton and Tina (Thompson) Upton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Ray Gore; a sister, Willett Nevins; and a brother, Ray Upton.

Survivors include a son, Joe Gore and his companion, Billie Akers of Livingston; a grandson, Brad Gore; and a great-granddaughter, Makiyah Gore; 2 nieces, Louise Miller and Nell Dickerson; and a nephew, Joel Upton.

Pallbearers were Roger Bybee, Donald Charles Gore, Wayne Mullins, Wesley Willeford, Billy Joe Maxwell Jr., and John Willeford.

RUTH (CLAIBORN) GUNTER
Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth (Claiborn) Gunter, 87, of Twinton, TN, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home, with Bro. Richie Farley officiating.

Burial was in Falling Springs Cemetery in Allred, TN.

Mrs. Gunter died Wednesday, March 9, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

She was a homemaker. She attended Twinton Church, loved the Lord, and loved to read the Bible. She was an avid quilter, painter, loved to crochet, read, and work jigsaw puzzles.

Born August 28, 1923 in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Callie (Boswell) Claiborn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Gunter, Sr.; 2 sisters, Marie Riddle and Betty Lane; a brother, J.L. Claiborn; and a granddaughter, Shanna Gunter.

Survivors include 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Billy Taylor of Redkey, IN, Dean and Marshall Phillips of Monterey, and Patty and Doyle Howard of Vines Ridge, TN; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Nancy Gunter of Newnan, GA and Charlie and Evelyn Gunter of Rickman; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; a special niece, Callie Lane; 2 special nephews, Daniel Coleman and Clay Coleman; and a host of other nieces and nephews.

VELMA LEE (ELDRIDGE) LEDBETTER
Funeral services for Mrs. Velma Lee (Eldridge) Ledbetter, 75, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home, with Bro. Nolan Cantrell officiating.

Burial was in Harris Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Ledbetter died Saturday, March 5, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a garment factory worker and member of Harris Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

Born November 27, 1935 in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Susie Elvise (McDonald) Eldridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leicel Ledbetter; a daughter, Annette Threet; 4 sisters, Myrtle Brown, Hassie Swallows, Etta Jane Ledbetter, and Linnie Belle Danner; and a brother, J .B. Ledbetter.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Linda Anderson and Deborah Ledbetter, both of Livingston; 4 grandchildren, Garrick Anderson, and his wife Kim, Heather Anderson, Steven Goodpasture, and Brad Goodpasture; and 5 great-grandchildren, Joshua Anderson, Brandon Anderson, Tyler Anderson, Hayley Anderson, and Seth Cunningham.

Pallbearers were Joshua Anderson, Brandon Anderson, Garrick Anderson, Doug Boles, Steven Goodpasture, Brad Goodpasture, Danny Brown, Donald Brown, and Doug Brown.

SUE ANN (MANIS) PARRISH
Funeral services for Mrs. Sue Ann (Manis) Parrish, 60, of Byrdstown, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home, with Bro. Bob Ritter officiating.

Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Parrish died Sunday, February 27, at her home.

Born August 30, 1950 in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late Garfield and Geneva Manis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Norman Manis; and 3 sisters, Wanda Carr, Barbara Phillips, and Peggy Gray.

Survivors include her husband, Tommy E. Parrish of Livingston; 3 sons, Tim Ledbetter of Byrdstown, and Tyler Fiddle and Tyson Fiddle, both of Allardt; a daughter, Tosha Brown of Murfreesboro; 2 sisters, Ruth Black of Clinton, TN and Donna Manis of Byrdstown; and a grandson.

CATHERINE L. (CONLEE) SCHMIDT
Mrs. Catherine L. (Conlee) Schmidt, 64, of Rickman, died Monday, March 7 at Livingston Regional Hospital.

She had been a factory worker.

Born February 15, 1946 in Long Beach, CA, she was the daughter of the late Troy William and Flora (Moore) Conlee.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Jessie Patterson of Cookeville; 6 grandchildren, Cody Flatt, Casey Flatt, Payton Patterson, Allyson Patterson, Sherry Schmidt, and Jacob Schmidt; and 2 great-grandchildren, Kayden Schmidt and Madison Brown.

JOE WILLIS THOMPSON
Funeral services for Mr. Joe Willis Thompson, 70, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home, with Bro. Craig Green officiating.

Burial was in Shiloh Cemetery in Hardys Chapel Community.

Mr. Thompson died Sunday, March 6, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Born May 30, 1940 in Overton County, he was the son of the late Hubert and Bessie (Collins) Thompson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Ray Thompson and Winton Thompson.

Survivors include 3 sons, Mark Thompson, David Thompson, and Bryan Lawhead, all of Livington; 3 sisters, Gladys Hooks and Brenda Sullivan, both of Livingston, and Virginia Dailey of Indiana; 4 brothers, Ronnie Thompson of Gallatin, TN, Ricky Thompson of Rickman, and Bennie Thompson and Kennie Thompson, both of Livingston; a granddaughter, Kelsi Lee Ann Thompson of Livingston; and a partner, Patti Harlow of Livingston.

Pallbearers were Brian Harlow, Brett Thompson, Greg Thompson, David Sullivan, Taylor Thompson, and Brent Stockton.
