A Brief Review of 1956 in Overton and Pickett Counties

Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Young, Mr. and Mrs. Lillard Stephens, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Prater had Sunday dinner at Jordan’s near Jamestown, after which they took a scenic drive through Jordan Park.
 
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Colman are confined to their home with illness.

Mrs. Lillard Stephens, Mrs. Larry Stephens and Mrs. Ralph Prater attended the fourth annual meeting of the Tennessee School Food Service Association at the Hotel Patton in Chattanooga last Friday. Ira Davenport, women’s editor of Farm and Ranch Magazine, gave the main address at the luncheon.
 
Mrs. R.J. Long has been admitted to Lady Ann Hospital.
 
Mrs. H.B. Lester and daughter, Sue, Mrs. Arthur Dayhuff and daughter, Betty, of Jamestown visited Mrs. Alta Keisling Monday.
 
James N. Lewis visited in Atlanta, Ga. over the weekend.
 
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Capps of Donelson visited friends and relatives in Livingston Sunday.
 
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Seber of Detroit recently visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grady Holman.
 
Mr. and Mrs. Wales Christian visited Mr. and Mrs. Illard Hunter Sunday.
 
Imogene Savage of the Fellowship Community visited friends at Allons Sunday.
 
Genola and Glenda Sue Lewis visited their grandmother, Mrs. Finley Maynard last Sunday.
 
Wanda Ledbetter was in Nashville last Saturday.
 
Mrs. Ina Ledbetter has returned home after a visit in Anderson, Indiana.
 
C.H. Cope visited Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Barlow last Sunday.
 
Addison Maynard, who has been sick, is much better.
 
The Monday night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hunter were Margie Maynord, Kimble Maynard, Donald Hunter, Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Peterman and son, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gunnels and children.
