ABrief Review of 1956 in Overton and Pickett Counties

Mrs. Alta Keisling, Mrs. Joe Eastland, Mrs. Berry Ledbetter and Roxie Ledbetter were sightseeing in Burkesville, Ky. Sunday.
Mrs. Johnny Eubank and son, Gary of Cookeville, are spending a few days with Mrs. Willie Maud Eubanks.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Underwood of Detroit, Mich. visited his sister, Mrs. W.R. Mitchell, this past week.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest L. Terry of Cookeville were recent visitors in Livingston.
Mrs. S.S. Webb has been visiting her mother, Mrs. O.N. Wallace, in Cookeville this past week.
Mrs. Wilbur Johnson and sons are visiting Dr. and Mrs. A.B. Qualls.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy H. Smith are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Joe Pointer in St. Petersburg, Fla. They also plan to visit their daughter, Mrs. Coy Lander, in Atlanta, Ga.
Reba Mae Culberson of Nashville was home over this weekend.
Mrs. James E. Ferguson and children, Mary Frances and Eddie of Knoxville, visited Mrs. Fannie Brown last week.
Mrs. Neil Anderson of Gallatin visited Geneva Bohannan this week.
Mr. and Mrs. William J. Sansom of Las Vegas, Nevada visited Dorsa Peek last week. Mrs. Sansom was the former Lattie Peek, a teacher in Livingston Academy, who formed our band.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Parrott of Cookeville visited his mother, Mrs. Pearl Parrott, over the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Edens of Duke University are in Livingston for a few days.
Mrs. Pearl Fowler and Mrs. Rose Fowler of Celina visited Mrs. W.A. Ownsby, Mrs. P.W. Maynord and Allie Maynard Sunday.
Parris Huddleston and sons of Muncie, Ind. spent Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. Lonza Rich.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ritter of Knoxville are spending their two-weeks vacation in Pickett County with her mother, Mrs. Lee Anne Taylor.
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Massengill and daughter, Charlene of the Navy, stationed in S.C., spent last week with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Jim Massengill of Byrdstown.
Quite a lot of excitement was seen when Hollis Parrot returned from Texas last week with a truck load of Mexican donkeys.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ballenger and children of Akron Ohio are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dillon, and other relatives.
Mrs. Henry Dyer and son, Michael of Huntsville, Ala., visited relatives in Florida last week.
Sgt. And Mrs. Kent McDonald and daughter of Mobile, Ala. Visited relatives in Pickett County last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Huddleston and family of Sparta and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bellew and family of Johnson City spent the weekend with Mrs. S.O. Huddleston.
