Buzachero traded, finalist for moniker

Former Livingston Academy Wildcats baseball standout Edward Dale “Bubbie” Buzachero was recently traded by the American League’s Toronto Blue Jays to the National League’s Houston Astros.

With the trade, Buzachero moved from the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to the Corpus Christi Hooks.

The trade to a National League team may give him a chance to swing the bat. Though most of his minor league games are played with the designated hitter rule, when the Hooks play another NL farm team, the pitchers get to hit.
A former threat with a bat as well as on the mound, Buzachero said he is looking forward to getting the chance to hit again.

In three games at Corpus Christi, he has a win and a 1.00 earned run average for 9 innings pitched.

He also finished in the Final Four of the 4th annual Minors Moniker Madness, where the fans choose their favorites of 64 unique names across the minors.

Bubbie Buzachero took out Buddy Boshers in the first round, then won over Al Alburquerque. Then he defeated Tuffy Gosewich, and followed with a win over Shooter Hunt.

In the semifinals, Bubbie lost to Seth Schwindenhammer, who had defeated Gookie Dawkins and is now pitted against Rowdy Hardy, who defeated Mark Hamburger in the semifinals.
