Hidden Valley holds 2-man scramble


Hidden Valley 2-Man Scramble winners in the championship flight are Brandon Ward, left, and Ryan Allison, right, shooting 56 on Saturday, June 5 and 59 on Sunday, June 6. Congratulating them is Mike Borden, manager at Hidden Valley Golf Course.

Ward and Allison held off an amazing comeback by Gary Maxwell and Lee Maxwell, who shot a 55 on Sunday and finished 2nd in the tournament, a stroke behind the winners. Third place went to Josh Shoulders and Rob Lollar.

The spring 2 man scramble golf tournament was sponsored by SEC Enterprises and had 106 golfers from around the Upper Cumberland area participating.


Hidden Valley 1st flight winners are Barrett Steakley and Paul Ballard, shooting 63 on Saturday and 61 on Sunday.


Winners in the 2nd flight are Kayla Stewart and James Garrett, shooting 67 on Saturday and 63 on Sunday.


Winners in the 3rd flight are Scott Phipps and Justin Cripps, Elizabeth Maxwell and Danny Garrett, and, not pictured, Gary Flynn and David Ward. All three teams shot a 70 on Saturday and a 66 on Sunday.

Auction to be held to benefit softball team
An auction will be held to benefit Orange Crush Softball girls traveling to State and World Series Tournament. The auction will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Saturday, June 19 at the Overton County Fairgrounds.

Petting zoo will be open from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and bluegrass music will play from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Activities such as cake walk, face painting, games, and door prizes will continue throughout the night. Concessions such as hot dogs and hamburgers will be available.
