The Jones-Shatto Wedding Party

Mr. and Mrs. David Jones of Nashville are pleased to announce the marriage of their son, Garrett Michael Jones, to Lauren Tracy Shatto, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Shatto of Chicago, IL.

The wedding was held at Old St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chicago on Saturday, July 31 at 11 a.m. Father Tom Hurley officiated the ceremony.

The reception was held at 6 p.m. that evening at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. Dinner and dancing were part of the day’s festivities.

The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maurie Shatto of Kenosha, WI and the late Mr. and Mrs. Virgilio Uyenco.

The groom is the grandson of Gladys Garrett of Livingston, the late Martin Cole Garrett, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Jones.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Her gown was an elegant creation by designer Priscilla of Boston. The ivory gown was an A-line style featuring a sweetheart neckline, sweeping train and a chapel-length veil. Bridesmaid’s dresses were of aubergine silk taffeta. The bride’s hand-tied bouquet was of white roses with hints of purple alliums. The flower girl and bridesmaids carried coordinating bouquets of romantic flowers in varying hues of soft blue and purple.

The Maid of Honor was Katherine Shatto of Chicago, IL, the bride’s sister. Bridesmaids were Anupama Selvam, Catherine Gregg, Jasmine Hermandez, Lauren Patel, Nicole Miller and Candice Hunt. Junior bridesmaids were Emma Gregg and Ariana Bahita, god-sister of the bride.

The flower girl was Madeline Michiels. The Best Man was Derek Baltuskonis of Eureka, CA, the groom’s cousin. Groomsmen were Jeff Basin, Matt Basin, Karl Hagedorn, Lee Hagedorn, Edwin Johnson, and Joseph Robinson. Ushers were Justin Tai, Cedric Tai, Christopher Cassidy and Drew Danczak. The greeter was Keli Basin. Sponsors were Judy Eldridge, Carol Gregg, Patsy Basin, Ann Tai, Faye Starks and Ellen Uyenco.

After the wedding ceremony, the bridal party was whisked aboard a Chicago trolley for a picture-taking tour of the city, including stops at Millennium Park, Lincoln Park Zoo and Adler Planetarium.

Both the bride and groom are 2007 graduates of the University of Michigan. The groom also has a Masters Degree from Boston University.

The bride is a kindergarten teacher with the Chicago Public Schools. The groom attends Rush University Medical School in Chicago, IL.

Following an adventurous honeymoon in Southeast Asia, the couple will reside in Chicago, IL.
