Florence (Stewart) Backstrom
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Florence (Stewart) Backstrom, 90, of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, September 17, 2010 from Williams Cemetery in Clay County, with Bro. Bobby Gore officiating.

Mrs. Backstrom died Sunday, September 12 at Metropolitan Hospital in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. She had been a homemaker and a member of Walnut Grove Church of Christ.

Born January 13, 1920 in Glasgow, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Grant and Florence Stewart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albin Napoleon Backstrom; and a daughter, Glenda Everley.

Survivors include a sister, Margaret Scablebo of Prince George, British Columbia, Canada; 3 grandchildren, Monte Everley and his wife, Rachel, of Livingston, Tammy (Phillips) Reamer, and Linda Riley; 6 great-grandchildren, Mitch Phillips, Byron Phillips, Chris Everley, Jordan Everley, Chelsea Riley, and Elizabeth Riley; and a great-great-granddaughter, Taylor Everley.

Cleo Myrtle (Bilbrey) Harris
Funeral services for Mrs. Cleo Myrtle (Bilbrey) Harris, 93, of Livingston, were conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2010 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home, with Bro. Donald Cobb officiating.

Burial was in Okolona Cemetery.

Mrs. Harris died Sunday, September 12, at Livingston Regional Hospital. She had been in the furniture business and was a member of Livingston First Baptist Church.

Born November 4, 1916 in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Sammie and Sally (Livingston) Bilbrey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Harris; a son, Jessie Ray Harris; 2 sisters, Georgia Romines and Clara Sells; and 4 brothers, Frank Bilbrey, Emmett Bilbrey, Ormon Bilbrey, and Orlon Bilbrey.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Reba Spears and Christine Spear, both of Livingston; a brother, Roy Lee Bilbrey of California; 3 grandchildren, Kyle Spear, Darian Spear, and Bryan Spears; and 2 great-grandchildren, Kylie Spear and Kyra Spear.

Pallbearers were Darian Spear, Kyle Spear, Donny Harris, Roger Moore, Jackie Bilbrey, and Sammie Bilbrey.

Claudell Honeycutt
Funeral services for Mr. Claudell Honeycutt, 84, of Spring Creek Community in Rickman, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 16, 2010 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home, with Bro. Clayton Lee and Bro. Dan Phillips officiating.

Burial was in Harris Chapel cemetery.

Mr. Honeycutt died Monday, September 13, at Bethesda Health Care in Cookeville. He had been a farmer and minister, and a member of Douglas Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

Born January 9, 1926 in Putnam County, he was the son of the late Andrew and Martha (Bowman) Honeycutt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Otha B. Walker; 3 brothers, Clyde Honeycutt, Willie Oakley, and Haskell Honeycutt; and 3 sisters, Geneva Lambert, Genieve Phipps, and Christola Honeycutt.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Linda Honeycutt of Cookeville; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Kevin Soaper of Nashville; a brother, Andy Honeycutt of Monterey; a sister, Melissa Hall of Anderson, IN; 4 grandchildren, Lee Bilbrey, Khristen Harris, Andrea Lancaster, and Amber Lee; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Daniel Lancaster, Mark Lee, Josh Harris, Terry Walker, Lee Bilbrey, Carl Honeycutt, Clifton Lambert, and Billy Oakley.

Arvis R. Neal
Funeral services for Mr. Arvis R. Neal, 71, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, September 13, 2010 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home, with Bro. Jerry Buck officiating.

Burial was in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, in Celina, TN.

Mr. Neal died Saturday, September 11 at his home. He had been a sawmill worker and was affiliated with Standing Stone Praise and Worship Center.

Born March 21, 1939 in Overton County, he was the son of the late Will and Lanie (Carter) Neal. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Neal.

Survivors include his wife, Sadie Ann Neal of Livingston; a son and daughter-in-law, Billy Joe and Rebecca Daniels of Livingston; 3 brothers, Grady Neal, Ray Neal, and Dean Neal, all of Livingston; a sister, Geraldine Gravett of Maryland; and a granddaughter, Lindley Bowlin of Muncie, IN.

Gena Mae (Pendergrass) Thompson
Funeral services for Mrs. Gena Mae (Pendergrass) Thompson, 72, of Rickman, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 16, 2010 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home, with Bro. Jerry Wilkinson and Rev. Jeff Cotterman officiating.

Burial will be in Dodson Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson died Monday, September 13 at Kindred Hospital in Louisville, KY. She had been a factory worker and was of the Methodist faith.

Born August 22, 1938 in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late Louis Dalton and Shirley (Garrett) Pendergrass. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Glenn Thompson; 4 brothers, Coy Pendergrass, Pratt Pendergrass, Clifford Pendergrass, and Johnny Pendergrass; and a half-sister, Betty Hash.

Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Vicki Thompson and Jeff and Tonia Thompson, all of Rickman; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Juanita and Jess Matthews of Rickman, and Fonza Smith of Indiana; a half-sister, Nelda Clark; a sister-in-law, Judy Pendergrass; a brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Nell Pendergrass of Jamestown; 2 half-brothers, Nick Pendergrass and David Pendergrass; 3 grandchildren, Josh Thompson of Cookeville, Jalie Thompson of Algood, and Chloe Thompson of Rickman.

Pallbearers were Timmy Pendergrass, Tommy Pendergrass, Sam Pendergrass, Mike Pendergrass, Gary Pendergrass, Kenny Smith, David Matthews, and Matt Wilkerson.
