Carlon Ray Bilbrey

Funeral services for Mr. Carlon Ray Bilbrey, 68, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home, with Bro. Nolan Cantrell officiating.

Burial was in Carter-Bilbrey Cemetery.

Mr. Bilbrey died Friday, August 20, at Livingston Regional Hospital. He had been a furniture factory worker and was of the Baptist faith.

Born March 2, 1942 in Overton County, he was the son of the late Ray Jack and Minnie Hazel (Hammock) Bilbrey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene (Holman) Bilbrey; and 2 brothers, Arley Bilbrey and Harlan J. Bilbrey.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy Bilbrey of Livingston, and his fiancee, Sandra Bilbrey of Cookeville; a brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Bonnie Bilbrey of Hilham; a sister and brother-in-law, Vonda Walker and W.T. Wilson of Livingston; an aunt, Jewel Hunter of Algood; a granddaughter, Raylee Bilbrey; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Justin Ledbetter, Keith Walker, Jonathan Bilbrey, Larry Walker, Donnie Staggs, and Dustin Walker.

Mary Lela (Hammons) Carmack
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lela (Hammons) Carmack, 93, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home, with Bro. David Hill, Bro. Craig Green, and Bro. Jeff Cotterman officiating.

Burial was in Mt. Gilead Cemetery

Mrs. Carmack died Saturday, August 21, at Livingston Regional Hospital. She had been a homemaker and member of Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church.

Born February 14, 1917 in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Erastus and Ella Mae (Stockton) Hammons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Carmack; a son, Bobby Joe Carmack; 3 brothers, Avrett Hammons, J.B. Hammons, and Tracy Hammons; 2 sisters, Dessie Lee Bilbrey and Molessia (Hammons) Brown.

Survivors include a very special niece, Pat Hammons of Livingston; a very special friend, Charlotte Laycock; several nieces and nephews, a host of friends and neighbors; and 6 caregivers, Chasity Hammons, Amanda Hammons, Kerissa Hendricks, Dean Smith, Jackie Goolsby, and Karen Goolsby.

Pallbearers were Ralph Bilbrey, Dan Bilbrey, Bill Bilbrey, Rodney Phillips, Ryan Johnson, Danny Day, Rick Brown, and David Brown.
Honorary pallbearer was Jeff Hammons.

Betty Ellen (Vaughn) Ray
Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Ellen (Vaughn) Ray, 90, of Monroe, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 22, 2010 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home, with Bro. Thomas Davis officiating.

Burial was in Fellowship Cemetery in Allons.

Mrs. Ray died Friday, August 20, at her home.

Born August 11, 1920 in Clinton County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Morna (Melton) Vaughn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Bertha Ray Vaughn; her husband, Walter Lester Ray; a son, James Alvin Ray; 2 sisters, Lucille Dulworth and Edna Myers; 4 brothers, Cal Edd Vaughn, Gordon Vaughn, Bill Vaughn, and Willie Wayne Vaughn, and an infant brother; 3 grandchildren, Shenea Ray, James Carl Cyphers, and Walter Frank Ray; and 2 great-grandchildren, Reva Shea Ray and Hunter Gunnels.

Survivors include 3 sons, Leonard Ray and Herman Ray, both of Allons, and Thomas Ray of Rickman; 2 daughters, Anna Lois Cyphers of Allons and Barbara Emberton of Monroe; 3 sisters, Olene Dick of Newcastle, IN, Clarise Gilbert of Cookeville, and Earlise Atkins of Ravenna, OH; a brother, J.D. Vaughn of Monroe; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and a host special friends.

Pallbearers were Brian Emberton, Shawn Emberton, Jason Ray, Kevin Ray, Kenny Ray, James Ray, Jr., Shane Ray, and Jim Oakley.

Honorary pallbearer was Allon Ray.
