Carl Ray Gentry
Funeral services for Mr. Carl Ray Gentry, 73, of Cookeville, were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home, with Bro. Robert Boles officiating.

Burial was in Lynn Cemetery in Jackson County.

Mr. Gentry died Sunday, May 16 at Overton County Nursing Home. He was a self-employed butcher at IGA.

Born June 10, 1937 in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Ruthie V. Gentry, who preceded him in death June 18, 1981.

Survivors include an aunt and uncle, Barbara and Silas Gentry, Jr. of Cookeville; special cousins, Betty Joe Gentry and Brenda Gentry, both of Cookeville; and numerous other cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Doyle Langford
Funeral services for Mr. Doyle Langford, 83, of Hilham will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2010 at Speck Funeral Home, with Bro. Chris Breeding officiating.

Burial will follow in Overton County Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Langford died Friday, May 21, at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a member of the Poplar Springs Baptist Church, and Masonic Lodge #577 in Detroit, MI, Master Mason.

Mr. Langford was a Truck Driver for Chrysler Corporation.

Born October 20, 1926 in Overton County, he was the son of the late Thomas Bradford and Vela Elizabeth “Lizzie” Franklin Langford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters; Ruby Langford Jones and Reba Langford Poteete, and a brother, Thurman Langford.

He is survived by his wife Freddia Williams Langford of Hiham; a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Patricia Langford of Livingston; a daughter Vickie Roman, of Warren, MI; 2 brothers and 1 sister-in-law; Herman and Lucille Langford, of Hilham and Douglas Langford, of Hilham; a sister and brother-in-law Sandra Faye and Gary Hobbs of Pensacola, FL; 4 grandchildren, Chad Flatt, Misty Langford, Christopher Roman, and Kyle Roman; and 3 great grandchildren; Lee Flatt, Dakota Flatt, and Chayanne Flatt; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were David Langford, Danny Langford, Christopher Roman, Chad Flatt, Michael Williams, and Chase Emberton.
