Beverly Ann Ballard
Funeral services for Miss Beverly Ann Ballard, 67, of Canton, OH, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home, with Rev. Craig Green officiating.

Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Miss Ballard died Saturday, December 26 at Affinity Medical Center in Ohio. She had been a bank teller and a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Livingston.

Born March 2, 1942 in Davidson County, TN, she was the daughter of Othus Pauline (Copeland) Ballard and the late Clyde Lee Ballard. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Lee “Sonny” Ballard, Jr.

Survivors include, in addition to her mother, a sister, Barbara Kress of Massillon, OH; 10 nieces and nephews, Rick Kress, Jennifer Kress, Jane Kress, Michelle Kress, Kim Riker, Wendy Milter, John Milter, Karie Lea Hawk and Brian Hawk.

Sue (Melton) Best

Funeral services for Mrs. Sue (Melton) Best, 76, of Akron, OH, were conducted Monday, December 28, 2009 from the chapel at Newcomer Funeral Home in Akron.

Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Best died Monday, December 21. She retired from Ellet IGA after 15 years of service. She had previously been employed at Brimfield and Ravenna Sparkle Markets, was a member of UFCW Local 880 and enjoyed working in her garden and spending time with her grandchildren.
Born November 20, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Elliott and Lee Emma Melton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

Survivors include a daughter, Theresa Frank; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, William and Carrie Best and Chet and Debbie Best; 3 sisters, Leatrice Melton, Imogene Melton, and Kathleen Propst; 6 grandchildren, Renee Frank, John Frank III, Amanda Best, Ryan Best, Caley Best, and Dylan Best; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Teresa Gayle (Ramsdell) Dulworth
Mrs. Teresa Gayle (Ramsdell) Dulworth, 50, of Livingston, died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at a later date, in accordance with the wishes of the family. She had been a grocery store cashier.

Born May 19, 1959 in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of Bobbie Jean (Warden) Ramsdell and the late Arthur Lee Ramsdell.

Survivors include, in addition to her mother, a brother, Rick Qualls of Lebanon, TN; a sister, JoAnne Keen of Celina, TN; 3 nieces, Dee, Danielle, and Mallory; and a great-niece, Alayna.

Ronald J. Eibel
Memorial services for Mr. Ronald J. Eibel, 55, of Hanging Limb Community, will be conducted at noon Saturday, January 9 from the chapel at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Eibel died Friday, January 1, 2010, at Livingston Regional Hospital.
Born May 10, 1954 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Josephine Eibel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Eibel.

Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Abby L. Eibel of Hanging Limb Community; 2 daughters, Samara Eibel of Ohio, and Alanna Eibel and her boyfriend, Jarrod Goodnight, both of Ohio; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Judy Eibel of South Carolina, and Mary and Patrick Schneider of South Carolina; a brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Cheryl Eibel of Ohio; a sister-in-law, Toni Lesowitz of Illinois; a mother-in-law, Daryl Sponseller of Tennessee; a father-in-law, Robert I. Lesowitz of North Carolina; and special friends, Todd and Cheryl McHenry of Ohio.

Gwendola (Huffines) Garrett
Funeral services for Mrs. Gwendola (Huffines) Garrett, 88, of Anderson, IN were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home in Livingston, with Rev. Gwenell Streeter officiating.

Burial was in Campground Cemetery.

Mrs. Garrett died Tuesday, December 22. She moved to Anderson in 1955 and for many years, she was a community correspondent with a weekly column in Overton County News.

Born June 9, 1921 in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Thurston “Boss” and Maudie (Flatt) Huffines. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Cortel Garrett; a son, Gary Garrett; 4 brothers, Hobert Huffines, Clarence Huffines, Howard Huffines, and Fred Huffines; 3 sisters, Edith Masters, Gertrude Smith, and Nadine Smith; and a great-grandson, Jerith Garrett.

Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Doris Garrett of Anderson, and J.B. and Nancy Garrett of Parker City, IN; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Steven Patty of Anderson; 4 sisters-in-law, Marie Ellis of Indiana, Inell Swinford of Chesterfield, IN, Inez Huffines of South Carolina, and Helen Huffines of Maryland; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Dwain Huffines, Justin Huffines, Kevin Garrett, Tom Ellis, Bobby Smith, and Ward Huffines.

John Kevin Geesling
Funeral services for Mr. John Kevin Geesling, 47, of Hilham, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2010 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home, with Rev. Roger Phillips and Rev. Ralph Shirley officiating.

Burial was in Campground Cemetery in Hilham.

Mr. Geesling died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at his home. He had been a truck driver and a member of Maxwell Chapel Church of God.

Born December 9, 1962 in Jackson County, he was the son of Ernest B. and Imogene (Randolph) Geesling of Hilham. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pete and Josie Geesling and Herbert and Ila Randolph.

Survivors include, in addition to his parents, his wife, Vicki (Vaughn) Geesling of Hilham; a daughter, Nikki Geesling of Hilham; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry Geesling and Dimple Geesling, both of Hilham; a sister and brother-in-law, Dian and Russell Dillon of Hilham; a mother- and father-in-law, James and Helen Vaughn of Monroe; 13 nieces and nephews, 13 great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Chris Matthews, Chad Dillon, Brandon Geesling, Duel Johnson, Randall Hall, and Brian Dailey.

Honorary pallbearers were James Vaughn, Clifton “Doc” Allen, David Nivens, Terry Allen, Nathan Lee, and Michael Cox.

L.B. Linder
Funeral services for Mr. L.B. Linder, 73, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009, from Christ Presbyterian Church in Alpine, with Bro. David Beaty and Bro. Lyle Anderson officiating.

Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Linder died Monday, December 28 at his home.

Born May 5, 1936 in Fentress County, he was the son of the late Howard and Delphia (Norris) Linder. In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Willie Nell McDonald.

Survivors include his wife, Deanna Linder of Livingston; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Rusty and Leneda Linder of Loganville, GA, and Eddie and Kaylan Linder of Carthage; and 4 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ed Linder, Claudell Norris, Ronnie Norris, Danny McCoin, Alton York, Roger Ruble, Kelly Hill, and Howard Smith.

Gladys Marie (Ogletree) McCormick
Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Marie (Ogletree) McCormick, 84, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2010 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home, with Bro. Bobby Gore officiating.

Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. McCormick died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Overton County Nursing Home. She had been a homemaker and a member of Walnut Grove Church of Christ.

Born December 20, 1925 in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Albert Benton and Lassie (Richardson) Ogletree. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Arvis McCormick; 2 brothers, A. B. Ogletree and Hugh Ogletree; and a grandson, Brad Preston McCormick.

Survivors include 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Teresa McCormick of Sparta, Ronald and Shirley McCormick of Livingston, and Keith and Gail McCormick of Rickman; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were her sons and grandsons.

Lee Virdon (Vaughn) McCowan
Funeral services for Mrs. Lee Virdon (Vaughn) McCowan, 96, of Monterey, were conducted at 2 p.m.Sunday, January 3, 2010 from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home, with Rev. Raymond Phillips and Rev. Kevin Phillips officiating.

Burial was in Phillips Cemetery in Columbia Hill Community.

Mrs. McCowan died Thursday, December 31 at Standing Stone Care and Rehabilitation Center. She had been a homemaker and a member of Union B Freewill Baptist Church.

Born June 10, 1913 in Cumberland County, she was the daughter of the late Jim Bill and Mandy Elizabeth (Hite) Vaughn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bill McCowan; 3 sons, Hershell McCowan, Marshall McCowan, and Elmer Ray McCowan; a daughter-in-law, Kay McCowan; 2 granddaughters, Darlene McCowan and Pamela McCowan; and 6 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Wilborn of Monterey; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Delmer and Betty Jo McCowan, and Rev. Eugene and Betty McCowan, all of Monterey, and Earl and Angie McCowan of Red Key, IN; a daughter-in-law, Beverly McCowan of Monterey; 19 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Marine (Colson) Pryor
Funeral services for Mrs. Marine (Colson) Pryor, 75, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009, from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home in Livingston, with Bro. Richard Gerhart officiating.

Burial was in Okolona Cemetery.

Mrs. Pryor died Sunday, December 27 at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born May 8, 1934 in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late Hershel and Mae (Long) Colson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Detro Pryor.

Survivors include a son, David Pryor of Livingston; a daughter, Myrna Holman of Livingston; a brother, Hershel Colson of Livingston; 3 grandchildren, Laura Holman, Chelsea Pryor, and Leanne Pryor; 3 great-grandchildren, Shania Mansell, Tristan Mansell, and Miley Kate Mansell.
Pallbearers were Jerry Colson, Gene Colson, Callum Hogue, Todd Matthews, Dylan Matthews, and Gerald Windle.
