James Gabriel Lewis Hummel


LTC Arlis Dwayne Hummel and Sherry Elizabeth Hummel of Allons proudly announce the birth of their son James Gabriel Lewis.

He was born Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, Washington. LTC Hummel is currently serving in Iraq.

His brother and sister-Noah and Annaston, along with their mother Sherry are living in DuPont, WA.

He is the grandson of Arlis “Shorty” and Sallie Hummel of Allons, Bill and Gladys Jonston, of Cookeville and the late James Smith.

Clay Matthew Melton


Matt and Jamie Melton of Monroe, proudly announce the birth of their son Clay Matthew who was born on Thursday, April 2 at Livingston Regional Hospital.

He weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. and was 18-1/2 inches in length.

Also welcoming him home was big brother Weston.

Hudson Cole Nivens


Shane and Erin Nivens of Oak Ridge proudly announce the birth of their son Hudson Cole who was born on Wednesday, May 27. He is the grandson of Eugene and Diana Nivens of Oak Ridge and James and Diana Jenkins of Clinton.

He is the great-grandson of Maxine Nivens of Allons and the late Buford O. Nivens.

Welcoming him home was his older brother Cade.

to unite in matrimony on Sept. 5

Mr. and Mrs. P.J. Cole of Allons and Mr. James Crawford of Hardy's Chapel announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Brandi Nicole Crawford to Wesley Alexander Mercer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mercer of Rickman.

The bride-elect is a 2007 graduate of Livingston Academy and a 2008 graduate of Tennessee Technology Center at Livingston’s LPN program.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Ray Watkins of Allons, Raymond and Sue Crawford, and Mr. and Mrs. Pat Cole.

The groom-to-be is a 2006 graduate of Livingston Academy.

He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Puckett of Portland, and Mr. and Mrs. Alton Mercer of Rickman.

The wedding will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5 at Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Hardy’s Chapel. A reception will follow the ceremony.

Family and friends of the couple are invited to attend.


Miss Ledbetter and Mr. Jackson
to unite in matrimony September 19

Mr. and Mrs. Gary W. Ledbetter of Livingston proudly announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ashley Kimes Ledbetter, to Johnny Randall Jackson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Jackson of Cookeville.

The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Livingston Academy and a 2008 graduate of the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business of Belmont University. She is employed by Warner Music Group in Nashville.

The groom-to-be is a 1997 graduate of Cookeville High School and a 1999 graduate of Nashville Auto Diesel College. He is employed by Ford Motor Company.

The wedding will take place on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 6:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Livingston.

The couple will make their home in Lebanon.

to unite in matrimony September 19

Mr. Bob Woosley of Livingston and Ms. Donna Payton Ross of Munfordville, KY announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Angela Faith McMeans to Chester Douglas Maynord, son of Mr. and Mrs. Durell Maynord of Livingston.

The bride-elect is a 1983 graduate of DuPont Manual High School in Louisville, KY. She is a bookkeeper for Janney & Associates, CPA’s in Livingston and the mother of Houston Trevor McMeans.  

She is the granddaughter of the late Harlan and Henrietta Woosley and the late Daymon Payton and Mary Agnes Emmons.

The groom-to-be is a 1986 graduate of Livingston Academy and works for Livingston Limestone. He is the grandson of Mrs. Thelma Maynord of Livingston and the late Mr. Void Maynord and Mrs. Elsie Collins of Livingston and the late Mr. Elmo Collins.

The wedding will take place at 2:20 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 at Memorial Baptist Church, with a reception immediately following the ceremony.

The new couple will reside in Livingston after honeymooning in Aruba.
