Livingston Academy girls
win volleyball tournament

The LA Grammar School Girl’s Volleyball Tournament has just been completed, the Sixth Grade girls of LA were victorious.

The team was composed of Lyda Grace Poston, Ann Lollar, Lola Mae Poor, Elese Brooks, Sammie Joice Young, and their teacher, A.H. Poston.

The Boy’s tournament will probably start next week.

Mrs. M. C. Brown was in town Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Bedford and young son, were the guests of Mrs. McDonald’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alec Smith of Rickman.

The Choctaw juniors entertained their warrior school mates, the Seminole Seniors, with a banquet and peace council on Saturday night in the L. A. auditorium.

Ex governor A. H. Roberts of Nashville, was in Livingston Sunday.
Dr. J. H. Miller of Lebanon, attended the commencement excercises at Alpine Sunday.

Mrs. C. C. Taylor has been appointed to a position in the Livingston Post Office.

Drs. Howard and Taylor of Cookeville visited relatives here Sunday night.

Mrs. Waldrop is visiting her daughter, Mary, who is teaching in Moultrie, Georgia.

Mrs. Clara Crawford visited her mother Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Owens of Albany visited Mr. and Mrs. Little, Tuesday.

Mrs. Roy Vaughn of Allons was carried to Cookeville Saturday, for medical treatment.

Little Betty Nan Ray of Crossville, spent last week with Betty Jo Spurier.

Mrs. Robert Eldridge and little son, Ronald, are visiting relatives and friends in Moulton and Tuscumbia, Alabama.

Jones Hill is reported critically ill at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Page Hill.

James G. Smith of Greenville, Texas was here this week to attend the funeral of his mother, Mrs. Forrest B. Smith.

Walter Burch and Mrs. Zilpha Gore Hurst of Moulton, Ala., attended the funeral of Mrs. Forrest B. Smith.

Mr. and Mrs. Pat Gillentine of Atlanta, GA., Mrs. Joe Dawson and little son Billy Wood, of Nashville, visited their uncle K. L. French this week.

Miss Eula Davis visited her daughter Mrs. J. H. Sallee, at Smithville, Sunday.

Mrs. E. F. Copeland is reported ill.

The new drinking fountain in the courthouse, which was ordered by the last session of the County Court, has just been installed.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Pointer of Algood, visited friends in Livingston, Friday.

Miss Velma Jones and Mrs. Bob Harris of Twinton, visited Mrs. Katherine Winningham Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Quitman Winningham of Twinton, visited Mr. and Mrs. Bob Harris Sunday.

Miss Carrie Ledford and Miss Ethlene Ledford of Twinton, visited Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gipson recently.

Miss Frances Lowhorn and Miss Essie Roberts visited Mrs A. C. Owens Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Harris and family visited Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Gunter Saturday night.
