Planning Fourth of July Celebration for

Plans are being made for a big Fourth of July celebration in Livingston under the auspices of the American Legion through the cooperation of local business men.

The program for the day will be announced later.

Hardy’s Chapel

Miss Paschall organized a Home Demonstration Club at Hardy’s Chapel June 1. She demonstrated the re-seating of a chair with binder twine. A lot of interest was shown in the work and a large crowd is expected for next month’s club meeting.

There will be a decoration at Poplar Springs Sunday, June 19. There is also a decoration at Shiloh graveyard Sunday, June 12.

Mrs. Ferrill Dickerson spent last week at Lebanon with her sister, Mrs. Jesse Crawford.

Lillie Phillips and Aaron Ray are married and will make their home to California.


Mr. and Mrs. Alex Cooper and daughter, Virginia Ann, of Rickman, and Mr. and Mrs. Otho Qualls spent the day Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Burr Smith.

Mrs. Ben Ledford of Monterey, and daughters and grandchildren of Detroit, Mich., and Columbus, Ohio were here last week visiting Mrs. O. K. Ken.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Hussey and the Rev. John Hussey of McMinnville and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Andrews and daughter, Roberta, of Rickman, were the dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Burr Qualls.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Loftis are the proud parents of a son.

Miss Maxine Speck spent part of last week with Misses Lucile and Dorothy West.

Brandon Boatman is here from Detroit, Mich., visiting his brother, Eb Boatman.

Miss Emma Hammons and Hollis Looper of Sunk Cane were married at Livingston Thursday. They are now residing with his parents at Sunk Cane.


Dayton Woodside and Hershel Bowman of Hanging Limb were in Crawford Sunday.

A large crowd from here attended the decoration at Hanging Limb Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Vestel Howard are the proud parents of a baby girl, Betty Lou, born Saturday.

We were sorry to hear of the death of Annette, the small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Robbins.

Miss Beulah Mae Hargis of Anderson, Ind., is visiting home folks here.

Miss Catherine Hargis, who has been going to school at Lenoir City, is spending her vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Hargis here.

Miss Catherine Hargis visited Miss Beatrice Goggins Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Coyle Copeland and children spent Sunday night with Mrs. Tim Copeland.

Tom hargis was in Livingston Friday on business.

Shirley Smith visited Tom Hargis Sunday afternoon.

•Mrs. Clara Smith, who has been employed in Florida as a teacher for several months, has returned to Livingston.

•Mrs. H. L. Burks is reported ill.

•Mrs. Alta Keisling attended the graduating exercises at York Institute at Jamestown last week.

•Edgar Dishman, who has been in Detroit on a business trip returned to Monroe.

•Landon Clark and little son of Windle visited his father Wednesday.
