Viola Copeland Cantrell
Funeral services for Mrs. Viola (Copeland) Cantrell, 78, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2008 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home, with Bro. Nolen Cantrell officiating.

Burial was in the Falling Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Cantrell died Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a retired factory worker and of the Baptist faith.

Born July 15, 1930 in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Harris) Copeland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Ray Cantrell, and a son, Clifton “Moose” Cantrell.

Survivors include special friends, Brenda Lewis and Pauline Carter.

Pallbearers were Randall Penticuff, Cody Penticuff, Jim Davidson, Mike Ledbetter, Johnny Harris, and Willie White.

Mark Kenneth Jackson
Funeral services for Mr. Mark Kenneth Jackson, 45, of Livingston, were conducted on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Kase officiating.

Burial was in the Sells Cemetery in the Ozone Community of Overton County.

Mr. Jackson died Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born December 15, 1962 in Overton County, he was the son of Kenneth and Lois (Kennedy) Jackson. He was a Maintenance Technician.

He was preceded in death by Thurman “Worm” Kennedy, R. D. Jackson and Beulah Walker Jackson.

Survivors include, in addition to his parents, 3 sons, Brandon Jackson of AL, Brad Jackson, and Cody Jackson both of Livingston; a brother, Robert Jackson of Livingston; a grandmother, Ruth Kennedy of Monroe; and twin grandsons, Jaydne and Peyton Jackson.

Pallbearers were Denny Bullock, Ed Long, Brandon Jackson, Brad Jackson, Tim Leroy Garrett and Grant Spears.

Honorary pallbearers were Cody Jackson, Rocky Spears, Jamie Goodpasture, and Nathan McDowel.

Richard F. Peck
Richard F. Peck, 83, of Byron, NY, a former tax preparer at H.& R. Block in Livingston, died Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Park Ridge Hospital in Byron, NY.

He was born December 15, 1924 in Batavia, NY. He was the son of the late George W. and Jessie (Farrall) Peck. A veteran, he served during World War II with the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Peck was a member of St. Brigid’s Church in Bergen, NY and also a founding member of the Byron Kiwanis Club, having received the Hixson Award in 2005.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gilbert Peck, and an infant daughter, Aileen Peck; a brother, Bill Peck and a sister, Harriet Liljedahl.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Marian (Geise) Peck of Byron; a son George W. Peck of Byron; 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Monica and Randy Simons of Denver, Mary and Howard Lester of Hemlock, and Maureen E. Peck of Denver; a grandson, John Simons, and a granddaughter, Amandaleah Lester; and several nieces and nephews.
