Vella Avis Beaty
Funeral services for Mrs. Vella Avis Beaty, 94, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston, with Bro. Donald Cobb officiating.

Burial was at Overton County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Beaty died Saturday, May 31, at Overton County Nursing Home. She worked as a nurse’s aid at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Born April 22, 1914, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late James Franklin and Susa Ella ( Smith) Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Mary Belle Spicer Williams; 3 sisters, Lucille Holt Deck, Bonzie Gunnels, and Montie Robbins; and 7 brothers, Colbert Williams, Cosby Williams, Roy Williams, Elmo Williams, Kermit Williams, Joe Williams, and James Williams.

Survivors include 3 nieces, Fern Bilbrey of Livingston, Margaret Tuggle of Hermitage, TN, and Helen Waddell of Willoughby, OH; 7 nephews, I.W. Williams and Billy Williams both of Livingston, Donald Williams of Smithville, Gerald Williams and Bobby Williams both of Crossville, Omar Williams of Louisville, KY, and J.B. Williams of Michigan; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Pallbearers were David Thompson, Mark Thompson, Donald Williams, Billy Williams, Jerry Williams, and Bobby Williams.

Geraldine Garrett Dale
Funeral services for Mrs. Geraldine Garrett Dale, 72, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2008 from the Chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Doak Turner and Bro. Nick Turner officiating.
Burial was at Wirmingham in Monroe.

Mrs. Dale died Thursday, June 19 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker, and a member of First United Pentacostal Church in Livingston.

Born April 5, 1936, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late George Wash and Eunice Flowers Garrett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 5 sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Dale of Livingston; 2 sisters, Lucille Oakley of Livingston, and Frances Sells of Livingston; a sister-in-law, Nellie Garrett of Livingston; and several nephews and nieces.

Marta Martina Jamont
Mrs. Marta Martina Jamont, 88, of Livingston, died Monday, June 16, 2008 at Overton County Nursing Home. She was of the Lutheran faith, and was retired from working at an airline office.

Born November 11, 1919, in Poland, she was the daughter of the late August and Berta Hauk Frey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Eugene Jamont, her husband.

Survivors include a daughter, Jeanette Bliss of Rickman; a brother, Georg Frey; two sisters, Hella Frey and Erika Pfeiffer.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity, to help wildlife, or children.

Bonnie M. Kyle
Funeral services for Mrs. Bonnie M. Kyle, 91, of Monroe, were conducted at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2008, from the Chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro Don Maxson officiating. The family chose cremation.

Mrs. Kyle died Friday, June 20, at Overton County Nursing Home.

Born April 20, 1917, in Overton County, she was daughter to the late Robert and Ova (Huffer) Sells. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Raymond Stone, and Robert (Bob) Kyle; 5 brothers, Halton Sells, Andrew Sells, Twin Barnie Sells, Forest Sells, and Arnold Sells; and a sister, Nancy Ellen Hensley.

Survivors include a sister, Chloe Conner of Ohio; 3 stepchildren, J.B. Kyle and Linda Kyle of Monroe, Odis and Dean Mayberry of Monroe; Helen Cyphers of Livingston; 5 step-grandchildren, Amy Cyphers of Whitleyville, Rachel Cyphers of Gainesboro, Belinda Sherlock of Indianapolis, Mike Mayberry of Monroe, and Jeff Mayberry of Indianapolis; 7 step-great-grandchildren; a nephew, Forest (Sonny) Sells of Livingston; and many other nephews and nieces.

Donna Sue Reagan
Funeral services for Ms. Donna Sue (Greenwood) Reagan, 37, of Old Hickory, TN, were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2008 from the Chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Nolen Cantrell officiating.
Burial was at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

Ms. Reagan died Tuesday, June 17 at her residence.

Born April 21, 1971, in Overton County, she was the daughter of Betty (Matheney) Greenwood of Livingston, and the late Donald Greenwood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willie and Bessie Matheney, and Christine Fletcher Thurman.

In addition to her mother, survivors include a daughter, Tierra Ralston of Old Hickory; a brother, Tyler Greenwood of Livingston; a sister, Erica Rawdon of Cookeville; a grandfather, Clovis Greenwood of Hilham; special companion Wayne Prater of Old Hickory; and several other family members and friends.

Pallbearers were Daryl Surbrook, Dustin Neal, Randall Thompson, Tommy Thompson, Jeff Neal, and Shawn Rawdon.

James William Search
Memorial services for Mr. James William Search, 88, of Cookeville, were held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 from St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Cookeville with Father Chad Puthoff officiating.

An interment service of his remains was held with full military honors at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Honors were provided by Veteran’s Honor Guard.

Mr. Search died Thursday, June 12 at Masters Health Care Center in Algood.

Born April 29, 1920, in Dayton, OH, he was the son of the late William Fletcher Search and Nora (Cogan) Search. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 siblings.

He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a First Lieutenant and bombardier pilot during World War II, and also served as bombardier flight instructor. He was employed as a tool maker at Oster Corporation for over 40 years before his retirement. He was also president of Livingston Tool and Die company. Mr. Search was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Hilda Marie (Pleiman) Search of Cookeville; 3 daughters and a son-in-law, Janis Marie Smith of Cookeville, Donita Francis Kennedy and husband John Lillard of Hilham, and Patricia Holloway of Cleveland, OH; two sons and daughters-in-law, James L. Search and wife Patricia Ann of Centerville, OH, and Robert L. Search and wife Patricia Sue of Norman, OK; a sister, Teresa Cull of Dayton, OH; 6 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Nella Dean Swallows
Funeral services for Mrs. Nella Dean Swallows, 76, of Monterey, were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2008, from the Chapel of Goff Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Bowman officiating.

Burial was at Welch Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Swallows died Wednesday, June 18 at the Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville.

Born August 10, 1931, in Muddy Pond, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Lona (Howard) Phillips.

Survivors include her husband, Lonzie Swallows of Monterey; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and wife Kim Swallows of Oneonta, AL, Eddie Swallows of Oneonta, and Terry and wife Stephanie Swallows of Monterey; 3 brothers, Carlon Phillips of Monterey, Amos Phillips of Monterey, and Franklin Phillips of Wayne, MI; 2 grandchildren, Jereme and wife Jennifer Swallows of Pinson, AL, and Katie Swallows of Oneonta; and a great-grandchild Talan Swallows, of Pinson, Al.
