Debbie Flesher
Funeral services for Ms. Debbie Flesher, 48, of the Muddy Pond Community, were conducted at 6 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2008, from Goff Funeral Home.

Ms. Flesher died Monday, April 28 at her home in Muddy Pond.

Born June 6, 1959 in Anderson, IN, she was the daughter of Vauda (Jones) Wilson of Muddy Pond and the late Jerry Baxter Wilson.

Ms. Flesher was a factory worker.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son, Jesse Foley.
In addition to her mother,she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Yulanda and Greg Walker of Pall Mall; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Michelle Foley of Jamestown; sister, Donna Wilson of Clarkrange; brother, Danny Wilson of Anderson, IN; 6 grandchildren, Isaiah York, Austin Walker, Ethan Hawks, Wyatt Hawks, Mallory McWhorter, and Makeely McWhorter.

Sammie Kenith Carter
Funeral services for Mr. Sammie Kenith Carter, 68, of Rickman, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. John Woody and Bro. Cecil Barlow officiating. Burial was in Holly Springs Cemetery.

Mr. Carter died Saturday, May 3 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He worked as a supervisor of a corrigated box factory and as a farmer. He also served in the United States Navy.

Born December 13, 1939, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Raymond and Ruby (Hughes) Carter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, R.D. Carter, Junior Carter, and Vanis Carter; and a sister, Murrel Dean Wasson.
Survivors include his caregiver and special companion, Connie Wilson of Rickman; a daughter, Jessica Carter of Rickman; a son, Denis Carter and wife, Gail, of Stow, OH; three sisters, Linda Morgan of Cookeville, Oletta Norris of Hilham, and Inez Wakefield of Utah; a half-sister, Betty Cook, and husband, Luther, of Ohio; a brother, Billy Joe Carter of California; a half-brother, Jimmy Carter of Livingston; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Mark Guy, Adam Hammock, William Ledbetter, Leroy Phillips, William Grimsley, and Charles Woody. Graveside military honors by James T. Davis, VFW Post 5062 of Livingston.

Willard Mansell
Funeral services for Mr. Willard Mansell, 56, of Livingston, were conducted at 12 noon on Saturday, May 3, 2008, from his residence.

Mr. Mansell died Tuesday, April 29 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was self-employed as a carpenter.

Born September 29, 1951 in Overton County, he was the son of the late Riley and Bertie (Dickson) Mansell.

Survivors include his wife, Patti Mansell of Livingston; a son, Steven Mansell of Kentucky; two daughters, Amy Burchett of Kentucky, and Angie Brasier of Indiana; a brother, John Mansell of Livingston; three sisters, Willo Dene Hill of Texas, Carolyn Rose of Indiana, and Rita Snelling of Indiana; special nieces and nephews, Johnny, Jeremy, Josh, and Marcia Mansell; and ten grandchildren.

George Sweeney
Funeral services for Mr. George Sweeney, 87, of Cookeville, were conducted on Friday, April 25 at 12:30 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Cookeville with Wayne Vettraino officiating.
Mr. Sweeney died Tuesday, April 22 at his residence.

Born February 15, 1921 in Wayne County, MI, he is survived by his wife, Barbara Sweeney of Cookeville; two sons, Neil Sweeney and Bruce Sweeney, both of Livingston; a sister, Gwyn Robison of Michigan; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
