Grace Arney Reetz
A memorial service for Grace Arney Reetz, who passed peacefully under hospice care at her home in Detroit, MI on March 27, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 3 at Free Communion Church of Christ. Bro. Marlon Winningham will officiate.

Grace was born in Pickett County on December 31, 1933, the daughter of the late Waymon and Hazel (Vaughn) Arney. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by husbands Brevice Allred and Robert Reetz; and two sisters, Wilma (Arney) Ledbetter and Mary (Arney) Abbott.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Allred; 2 sons, Paul Allred and Phillip Allred; and her dear niece, Charlotte (Ledbetter) Potes, all of Detroit; 2 brothers, W.J. Arney of Park Forest, IL, and Jerry Arney of Port Orange, FL; and loving grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, Grace would have preferred, and the family suggests that any donations be made, to the Good Hope Cemetery Trust, in care of Union Bank. (C)

Teresa Jean Abbott
Funeral services for Mrs. Teresa Jean Abbott, 41, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2008, from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home in Livingston with Bro. Nolan Cantrell and Bro. Jimmy Buck officiating. Burial was in Fredonia Cemetery.

Mrs. Abbott died Friday, April 25 at her mother’s residence.

Born June 3, 1966 in Springfield, TN, she was the daughter of Bobby Smith and Pauline Gore Staggs.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Jack T. Abbott.

Survivors include her husband, Ricky Abbott of Livingston; 2 sons, Travis Staggs of Rickman and Donnie Wayne Staggs of Livingston; a daughter, Heather Gentry of Hilham; mother, Pauline Staggs and husband W.J. of Livingston; father, Bobby Smith and wife Irene of Monroe; 2 sisters, Ann Stover of Rickman and Connie Scantland of Livingston; two brothers, Bobby Smith, Jr. and Jeff staggs, both of Livingston; mother-in-law, Betty Jane Abbott of Livingston; 2 grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers were Travis Staggs, Donnie Staggs, Bobby Smith, Daniel Scantland, Wesley Scantland, and Justin Scantland.

Horace L. Cox

Funeral services for Mr. Horace L. Cox, 61, of Rickman, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home of Livingston with Bro. Nolan Cantrell officiating. Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Cox died Sunday, April 20 at Standing Stone Care and Rehab Center. He was a factory worker.

Born February 24, 1947 in Putnam County, he was the son of the late Oplis and Orgie West Cox.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Arlow Cox and Billy Ray Cox.

Survivors include his wife, Nelly Cox of Rickman; a son, Gary Cox of Rickman; 2 daughters, Christina Cox and Deanna Cox, both of Rickman; 2 grandchildren, Aliya Cox and Harley Cox; 6 brothers, Thomas Cox, Layton Cox, Jack West Cox, Russell Cox, James Cox, and Walter Cox; 4 sisters, Willodean Ball, Lula Mae Barriger, Edith Marie Cox, and Betty Jean Auberson.

Pallbearers were Gary Cox, Bobby Joe Cox, Jeff Auberson, Charles Ball, Joey Peek, and Cordell West.
