NINA (WALKER) CARR
Funeral services for Mrs. Nina (Walker) Carr, 88, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Linder officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Carr died Sunday, March 23 at Overton County Nursing Home. She was a factory worker and a member of Highland Freewill Baptist Church.

Born March 13, 1920, in Overton County she was the daughter of the late Shirley and Auda (Ledbetter) Walker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Coy Carr, 2 brothers, J.P. Walker and Edward Walker; and 3 sisters, Neva Evans, Louise Hood, and Myrtle Lewis.

Survivors include a sister, Elene Cantrell of Livingston; a step-daughter, Judy A. McGraw of Konawa, OK; and a host of nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers were Rick Cantrell, Ron Walker, Bill Hood, Jim Hood, Jeff Lewis, Donald Ledbetter, Gary Ledbetter, and Ray Evans.

JAMES C. LEDBETTER
Funeral services for Mr. James C. Ledbetter, 78, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Cecil Shaw officiating. Burial was in White Cemetery in Monroe.

Mr. Ledbetter died Thursday, April 3 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a pipe layer in the construction industry and a member of the Church of Christ.

Born June 13, 1929, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Buck Harrison and Cora Elizabeth (Rains) Ledbetter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Ray Ledbetter, Sherly Ledbetter, Lonzo Ledbetter, Mose Ledbetter, and Edd Ledbetter; and 4 sisters, Christine Conner, Sally Pearson, Daisy Holman, and Babe Holman.

Survivors include 3 brothers, Bobby Ledbetter and Glen Ledbetter , both of Livingston, and Billy Ledbetter of Kansas City, MO; and 2 sisters, Barbara Pearson of Livingston and Laura B. Webb of Anderson, IN.

Pallbearers were Harold Gore, Mike Garrett, Leonard Richardson, Brad Smith, Brad Lockhart, and M.J. Lockhart.

VONDA MYRTLE ROBERTS
Funeral services for Mrs. Vonda Myrtle Roberts, 88, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. James Hunter and Bro. A.J. Looper officiating. Burial was in Holly Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Roberts died Thursday, March 27 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was homemaker and a member of Holly Springs Church of Christ.

Born April 25, 1919, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Beulah (Hawkins) Ogletree.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Alexander Roberts; and a brother Cecil Ogletree.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Barbie Roberts of Crawford; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Linda (Roberts) and Houston Whitfield of Florida and Judy (Roberts) and Keith Smith of Livingston; 2 sisters, Irene Gilpatrick and Elese Ogletree; 6 grandchildren, Heather (Whitfield) and her husband Andrew Barry, Beau Whitfield and his wife, Chrystal, Jimmy Roberts and his wife Michelle, Rachel Anne Roberts, and Ashley Lawson and her husband, Michael; 3 great-grandchildren, Colin Alexander Barry, Abigail Lawson, and Audrey Lawson; and a special friend, Hazel Webb.

Pallbearers were Houston Whitfield, Beau Whitfield, Andrew Barry, Keith Smith, Jim Deck, and Ben Gilpatrick.

Honorary pallbearers were Luther Gene Coffee, Donald Dale, Dale Mars, Jeremy Mars, Billy Neal Carmack, R.L. Ogletree, Kenneth Hunter, Ray Lunsford, Dr. W.G. Quarles, Dr. Truman Smith, Wayne Hancock, Ed Gilpatrick, Rev. Newsome Harvey, Lois Bybee, Ruth Dailey, Amanda Cox, and employees of CareAll Quality Home Health.
