Dorothy A. Arney
Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy A. Arney, 69, of Allons, were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Ledbetter officiating. Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Arney died Saturday, Jan. 12 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. She was a homemaker and a member of Free Communion Church of Christ.

Born February 23, 1938, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Odell and Lois (Holt) Ferrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Richard Tony Arney and Beverly Odell Arney.

Survivors include her husband, Joe A. Arney of Allons; 2 step-brothers, Roy Jackson and Ken Jackson, both of Livingston; 2 step-sisters, Wilma Holman and Wanda Sevier, both of Livingston; an aunt, Helen Waddell of Cleveland, OH; and her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Grant and Alice Fay Cathey of Franklin, Grady and Frankie Arney of Independence; and Mildred Arney of Alpine.

Clyde Boles
Funeral services for Mr. Clyde Boles, 87, of Rickman, were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Rex Boles officiating. Burial was in Maxwell Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Boles died Monday, Jan 7 at Cookeville Regional Hospital. He was a farmer and worked in the automotive industry.

Born April 19, 1920, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Simpson and Eppie (Hawkins) Boles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Boles; and a sister, Lillian Grossi.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Linda Matheny of Rickman and Carol Bilyeu of Anderson, IN; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, George Boles of Hilham and Rex and Wanda Boles of McMinnville; a sister, Lola Sullivan of Knoxville; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Dorothy Wilmonth of Cookeville.

Pallbearers were Michael Matheny, Ron Bilyeu, Jim Baugh, Tom Grossi, Don Sullivan, and Cecil Wilmoth.

Elmo Claude Ferrell
Funeral services for Mr. Elmo Claude Ferrell, 92, of Hendersonville, formerly of Overton County, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Boles officiating. Burial was in Old Union Cemetery.

Mr. Ferrell died Thursday, Jan. 10 at NHC Healthcare in Hendersonville. He was a factory worker, a farmer, a veteran of the United States Army who served during World War II, and a member of Lakeside Church of Christ.

Born February 16, 1915, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Almeda (Freeze) Ferrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Nell Ferrell; and 2 brothers, Jarvy Eldridge and Orel Ferrell.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Nancy Ferrell of Goodlettsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Vic Boles of Goodlettsville; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Gary Ferrell, Jeff Boles, Jimmy Hartley, Curt Ellis, Dave Duebber, and Gerald Ferrell.

Honorary pallbearers were Harold Eldridge, Jimmy Ferrell, Danny Ferrell, and Peyton Ellis.

Danny Detro Smith
Funeral services for Mr. Danny Detro Smith, 81, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, from the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Jack Martin officiating.

Mr. Smith died at his home. He was a retired contractor, a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II, and a member of Green Ridge Church of Christ.

Born August 8, 1926, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Basley and Mattie (Taylor) Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances (Connor) Smith; and 2 sons, Timothy Paul Smith and Danny Steve Smith.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Janice Smith of White House; a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Lola Smith of Livingston; 5 sisters and a brother-in-law, Bertha Conner, Elsie and John Carter, Virginia Ford, Sue Smith, and Mary Joyce Roop, all of Livingston; 2 grandchildren, Tim Smith and Tammy Brassel; and 5 great-grandchildren.
