• Mrs. Ione Skaggs of Indiana was called home on account of the sudden death of her sister, Mrs. Arlis Hodges last week.

• Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Hodges of Kentucky attended the funeral of Mrs. Arlis Hodges last week.

• Clarence Hodges of Akron was called home last Wednesday on account of the death of his brother’s wife, Mrs. Arlis Hodges.

• Mr and Mrs. Bedford McDonald are the proud parents of a baby boy.

• Bob Bedford and Johnnie Mullins of Lillydale were here last week to visit their sister, Mrs. Harrison, who is ill.

• Miss Codice Vaughn spent the weekend with relatives here.

• Mr. and Mrs. Henry Poor of Celina visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Poor Sunday.

• Charles Barnes of Fredonia spend last week in Cookeville.

• Mrs. Ona Arney and son, Paul visited her aunt, Mrs. Wilburn on Ashburn Creek Tuesday.

• Miss Jimmie McGee has returned home from Indiana where she visited her sisters.

• George Clay Vaughn was out of school on account of illness last week.

• The Ladies Missionary Society of the Christian Church met Monday night with Mrs. J.B. Dale. Thirteen members were present.

• Miss Ruth Lee Mitchell was in Crossville Sunday. She was accompanied home by her sister, Miss Lucy Price Mitchell, who has been teaching in Cumberland County.

• Mrs. Roy J. Smith visited her sister Mrs. Officer in Monterey the first of last week.

• Mr. and Mrs. Paul Capps of Nashville were here last Friday to attend Mrs. Hodges’ funeral.

• Miss Lucy Frances Mitchell visted in Monterey last Sunday.

• Rev. and Mrs. S.D. Organ of near Clarksville were here last Friday to attend Mrs. Arlis Hodges’ funeral.
