Mr. and Mrs. Chad Ackerman

Marcie Ramsey and Chad Ackerman were wed April 7, at Netherland Church of Christ in Rickman. The 1 p.m. ceremony was officiated by Mark Loftis.

The bride is the daughter of Rick and Brenda Ramsey of Cookeville. The bride’s grandparents are Bill and Shelby Johnson of Algood, and Frances Ramsey of Cookeville and the late Lee Ramsey.

She wore a white Alfred Angelo dress. The strapless bodice was laced in the back and adorned by tiny sequins and baby pearls. The train of the gown was also adorned in hand-sewn sequins and pearls. The bride wore “Cinderella” shoes and a simple white veil with a tiara.

The groom is the son of Lois Ackerman of Little Falls, NY, and the late James Ackerman.

His grandparents are the late William and Mary Colangelo and Earl and Laura Ackerman.

For the ceremony, the church was decorated with white tulle bows with yellow roses on each pew. The ceremony was performed with the bridal party backed with lovely arches accented with white flowers and ivy. Mini white lights came down on each side of the church.

The ceremony consisted of several songs, but the highlight of the music was Terry Webb of Livingston singing “I Loved Her First” before the bride was escorted in by her father.

Matron of honor was longtime friend of the bride Mrs. Jocelyn Delk. The bride’s attendants were Rebecca Henderson, Emily Russell, Angela Helmes, Jania Newby, Kristy Williams, and Rebekah Dalton. All the attendants were friend’s of the bride. Three junior bridesmaids were Katie Collins, niece of the groom, Sierra Ackerman, goddaughter of the groom, and Samantha Ackerman, niece of the groom. The flower girl was Marcie’s cousin Courtney Wilson. The attendants wore navy blue strapless gowns and carried bouquets of yellow roses. Courtney’s dress was white and she carried a handmade basket filled with red rose petals.

The best man was the groom’s brother Jeff Ackerman. The groomsmen were the groom’s brother Kurt Ackerman and his friends Josh Wells, Jay Benjamin, David Malone, Jeff Bolton, and Randy Risher. The ringbearer was Matthew Austin, friend of the bride. Matthew was accompanied by two ring guards, Logan Ramsey, cousin of the bride, and John Lewis Austin, friend of the bride. The flower girl escort was Christopher Wilson, the bride’s cousin.

A lunch reception was hosted by the bride’s parents in the fellowship hall of the church. The hall was decorated in navy and yellow, matching the colors of the ceremony. The meal was barbeque, slaw, and baked beans, or ham, potatoes, green beans, and rolls. A children’s table had hot dogs, chips, and juice boxes.

The wedding cake was prepared by Dorothy Rusch of Gainesboro. The three-tiered cake was surrounded by smaller heart-shaped cakes.
The groom had two cakes; one of them was an original strawberry cake only made by Mrs. Rusch, and the other was a dolphin with a Miami Dolphins football helmet in honor of the groom’s favorite team.
Following the lunch the bride and groom hosted a party at Leslie Town Center in honor of their attendants.

Following a honeymoon in Jamaica, the Ackermans now reside in Cookeville.
