James Camp
A memorial service for Mr. James Camp, of Monroe, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007 at First Christian Church.

Mr. Camp died Tuesday Nov. 20. He retired from AT &T, worked with Habitat Housing, was an active member of Friends of the Library, enjoyed doing mission work, and attended First Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Camp; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Heidi Camp of Monroe; 3 daughters and a son-in-law, Joyce Camp of Akron, OH, Katherine and Don Waggoner and Kimberly Schriber, all of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; 14 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church.

Woodrow Wilson Ferguson

Funeral services for Mr. Woodrow Wilson Ferguson, 91, of Lewisville, TX, formerly of Cookeville, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, from the chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home.
Mr. Ferguson died Saturday, Nov. 17. He was a long-time resident of Detroit, MI, and served as president of the UAW Local 174. He retired to Hale, MI, later to Cookeville, and then to Lewisville.

He was the son of the late Lee and Carrie Ferguson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Steve Ferguson, Carse Ferguson, Claude “Jack” Ferguson, and Arnold Ferguson; 5 sisters, all deceased at birth; and his son-in-law, Ernest Baker.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lizzie (Hastings) Ferguson; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Marilyn and Charles McDaniel of Lewisville and Kathleen Baker of Detroit, MI; six grandchildren, Julie Guza and her husband Doug, Sandra McDaniel, Laura Clifton and her husband Russell, Cindy Murray, Richard Baker and his wife, Theresa, and Bill Baker and his wife Kim; 9 great-grandchildren, Heather, Caitie, Nathan, Kayla, Mark, Justin, Shianne, Reagan, and Drake; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.

His grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Thomas Ray Norrod
Graveside services for Mr. Thomas Ray Norrod, 86, of Monterey, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, at Whittaker Cemetery in Monterey with Rev. Gerald Bland officiating.

Mr. Norrod died Saturday, Nov. 17 at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. He was a fireman and engineer with Tennessee Central Railroad and Southern Railway, a member of Monterey Masonic Lodge #751, a veteran of the United States Navy, and was of the Baptist faith.

Born December 29, 1920, in Monterey, he was the son of the late Lonnie V. and Audra Mae (McDonald) Norrod. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Norrod.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Marcia Norrod of Knoxville; a daughter, Billie Davis of Monterey; a sister, Captola Hendrickson of Monterey; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital.

Bruce Glenn Staggs
Funeral services for Mr. Bruce Glenn Staggs, 60, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Savage officiating. Burial was in Miller Cemetery.

Mr. Staggs died Thursday, Nov. 22 at his home. He was a furniture factory worker and of the Baptist faith.

Born October 6, 1947, in Overton County, he was the son of Edwina (Burchett) Staggs of Livingston and the late Harvey Delbert Staggs.

Survivors include 3 brothers, Terry A. Staggs and Bobby Staggs, both of Livingston, and Jeffrey Staggs of Cookeville; 2 sisters, Shirley Sturgill of Byrdstown and Sandra Garrett of Monroe; 2 nephews, Chad Staggs and Jesse Staggs; a niece, Tosha Staggs; and a great-niece, Katelyn Bowman.

Pallbearers were Rodger Hogue, Chad Staggs, Robert Sturgill, Luther Epling, Donald Hogue, and Josh Mansell.

Honorary pallbearers were David Hogue, Boone Dishman, Daniel Staggs, and Shane Hogue.
