Roy Thomas Bilbrey
Funeral services for Mr. Roy Thomas Bilbrey, 93, of the Timothy Community of Overton County, were conducted Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Charlie Rice and Willie Hugh Bilbrey officiating. Burial was in Fellowship Cemetery.

Mr. Bilbrey died Sunday, Nov. 4 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a park attendant.

Born January 5, 1914, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Solman and Susie (Robbins) Bilbrey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tina (Ferrill) Bilbrey; 6 brothers, Eddie Bilbrey, Floyd Bilbrey, Quentin Bilbrey, Carvel Bilbrey, Rue Bilbrey, and Grady Bilbrey; and 3 sisters, Katy Kirby, Unice Bilbrey, and Lizzie Bilbrey.

Survivors include 2 brothers, Atwell Bilbrey of Livingston and Raymond Bilbrey of Cookeville; a special nephew, Willie Hugh Bilbrey; and a host of nephews and nieces.

Ryan Casey Cox

Funeral services for Mr. Ryan Casey Cox, 18, of Hilham, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Eulas Hammock officiating. Burial was in Turkeytown Cemetery.

Mr. Cox died Saturday, Nov. 10 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He worked for a tree trimming company.

Born May 1, 1989, in Overton County, he was the son of Bobby Joe Cox and Sandra (Crabtree) Cox Cunningham, both of Hilham.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lester B. Cox.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his grandparents, Leo and Joella Crabtree and Velma Cox, all of Hilham; a step -mother, Tina Key of Hilham; a half-brother, Jamie Lee Key of Hilham; a half-sister, Candy Michelle Lee of Hilham; and 2 aunts, Teresa Meadows and Gail Barlow, both of Hilham.

Pallbearers were Joey Beechboard, Chris Lee, Raleigh Thompson, Scott Hamilton, Bryan Rooker, and Matt Bates.

Mable Dorise Crabtree
Funeral services for Mrs. Mable Dorise Crabtree, 76, of Hilham, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. John Mayberry and Bro. Jim Blankenship officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Crabtree died Sunday, Nov. 18 at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of Hilham Church of Christ.

Born July 6, 1931, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late William Talmadge and Bertha Gertrude (Crawford) Barnes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. Crabtree; and a sister, Geraldine Joseph.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Connie Crabtree; 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and O.J. McCloud of Livingston, Betty and Kenny Winningham of Cookeville, Wanda and Donnie Harris of Rickman, and Beverly and Lester Green of Hilham; 7 grandchildren, Kenneth L. Winningham III, Alex Winningham, Megan Winningham, Shelley Copeland, Jake Crabtree, William Green and Cody Green; and 3 great-grandchildren, Hannah Crabtree, Storm Johnson, and Kirk Oakley.

Pallbearers were Rick Crabtree, Randall Crabtree, Jim Reese, Frank McIlvain, Harold Crabtree, Jr., and Raymond Crawford.

Veachel Mae Livingston
Funeral services for Mrs. Veachel Mae Livingston, 96, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. James Williams officiating. Burial was in Paran Cemetery.

Mrs. Livingston died Wednesday, Nov. 14 at Golden Living in Rogers, AK. She was a restaurant cook and a member of Okolona United Methodist Church.

Born March 12, 1911, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Junie (Reed) Eldridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Lee Livingston; 2 brothers, Harry Eldridge and Carson Eldridge; and 2 sisters, Mary Livingston and Mattie B. Butler.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Annadean and Ronald Stover of Rogers; a brother, J.B. Eldridge, of Rickman; 2 sisters, Claudine Bilbrey of Livingston and Geneva Norrod of Rickman; 3 grandchildren, Bryan Stover of Rogers, Greg Stover and his wife Dawn of Springdale, AK, and Kevin Stover and his wife Emily of Germantown, OH; 3 great-grandchildren, Bryanna Stover of Rogers, and Paxton Stover and Parker Stover, both of Springdale; and several nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers were Phillip Livingston, David Livingston, Ethan Livingston, Kenneth Livingston, David Vendola, and Bill Dodson.

Agnes O. Phillips
Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes O. Phillips, 83, of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Richardson officiating. Burial was in Fellowship Cemetery.

Mrs. Phillips died Wednesday, Nov. 14 at Akron City Hospital. She worked in her home, providing adult foster care and was of the Methodist faith.

She was born July 18, 1924, in Clay County, and was preceded in death by her husband, Casper Phillips.

Survivors include a son, Danny Carl Phillips of Akron; a daughter, Zona Emily Phillips of Cuyahoga Falls; a grandson, Jerry Rouse of Akron; and 4 great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Chase, Jessica, and Shelby.

Pallbearers were Clifton Brown, Eric Brown, Paul Daniels, and Larry Daniels.

Rev. M.G. Phillips
Funeral services for Rev. M.G. Phillips, 73, of Watertown, formerly of Monterey, were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene McCowan officiating. Burial was in Mineral Springs Cemetery.

Rev. Phillips died Tuesday, Nov. 13 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a welder, a minister in the Upper Cumberland area for 60 years, and a member of Faith Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

Born February 3, 1934, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Hillary and Sarah Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susie (Walker) Phillips; 3 brothers, William Phillips, Ruben Phillips, and Goodman Phillips; and 2 sisters, Lillie Thompson and Mary Meddie Bowman.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William Larry and Kay Phillips of Watertown; a daughter, Kathy Murphy of Lebanon; a brother, Tillman Phillips of Monterey; 2 sisters, Millie Whittaker and Magdalene Whittaker, both of Monterey; 5 grandchildren, Larry Wayne Phillips and his wife Donna and Lane Phillips, all of Watertown, Troy Murphy and his wife Catherine of Nashville, Chris Murphy and his wife Lori of Mt. Juliet, and Christina Murphy of Lebanon; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth (Tucker) Twyman
Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth (Tucker) Twyman, 91, of Memphis, formerly of Overton County, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Twyman died Sunday, Nov. 11 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis. She worked as a registered nurse at Overton County Health Department and Berkline, was a member of First Baptist Church in Memphis, and attended Memorial Baptist Church in Livingston where she also taught a Sunday School class.

Born September 17, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Anna Tucker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
husband, Frank Twyman.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Carol Twyman of Memphis; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Martin Ikle of Memphis; 3 sisters, Beryl Little of Fort Meade, FL, Lena Kate “Lynn” Pennington of Jonesborough, and Sara Hawkins of Terre Haute, IN; 2 granddaughters, Anna Wallace and Kathryn Perez, both of Memphis; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, Memphis, TN, 38018.

Doyle Leonard West
Funeral services for Mr. Doyle Leonard West, 79, of Kennesaw GA, formerly of Fentress County, were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, from Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Roy Allen officiating. Burial was in Upchurch Cemetery.

Mr. West died Saturday, Nov. 17 at Heartland Hospice in Cartersville, GA. He was a retired truck driver for ABF Trucking Company and a member of Kennesaw First Baptist Church.

Born January 15, 1928, in Fentress County, he was the son of the late Dayton L. and Ruby (Greer) West.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Harold West and Duil West; and a sister, Pauline Hutchinson.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian C. West of Kennesaw; a son, Larry G. West of Cleveland; 2 daughters, Linda W. Olschewske of Woodstock GA, and Vickie Whitlock of Acworth, GA; a brother, Doug West of Cookeville; a sister, Charline Ingram of Monterey; 8 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
