Jeffery Darrell Andrews
Funeral services for Mr. Jeffery Darrell Andrews, 46, of Anderson, IN, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, from the chapel of Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with Rev. John Ray officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.

Mr. Andrews died Saturday, Oct. 27 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born October 26, 1961, in Livingston, he was the son of Myrtle Andrews and the late William Doc Andrews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rosa Smith Andrews, Alford Thomas Andrews, Comer Burkes, Annie (Boles) Burkes; and a close cousin, Shaun Andrews.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include a brother and sister-in-law, Rickey and Faye Andrews; a son, Billy Andrews; his son’s mother, Lisa Barker; 5 foster children, Frank Vega, Stefanie Vega, Christa Vega, Jason Vega, and Amy Vega, all of Anderson; 5 nephews, Jason Andrews, Josh Andrews, Zackary Andrews, and Dee Groover, all of Anderson; 2 nieces, Amber Lokey and her husband Shane, and Kira Johnson and her husband Neil; a special cousin, Lisa Andrews; and a host of special friends, including, Tammy Jo Hall, Bill Lycan, Mike Cox, Paul Decker, and Freddy Baldwin.

Gary Michael Beaty
Funeral services for Mr. Gary Michael Beaty, 57, of Monroe, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Campbell and Dolphus Dial officiating. Burial was in Sylvester Robbins Cemetery in Monroe.

Mr. Beaty died Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a teacher and principal in Overton County School System for many years.

Born March 17, 1950, in Overton County, he was the son of Willie and Grace ( Hasting) Beaty of Monroe.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a daughter, Anna Marie Hilton of Knoxville; a brother, Richard Beaty of Monroe; a sister, Janie Byers of Monroe; several nephews, nieces, uncles, and aunts; and a special friend, Francie Burks of Livingston.

Pallbearers were Bo Byers, B.J.Byers, Brandon Byers, Chad Burks, Jonathan Beaty, Jeff Beaty, Dolphus Dial, and Buck Smith.

Donald “Don “Edward Burroughs
Funeral services for Mr. Donald “Don” Edward Burroughs, 69, of Cookeville, were conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, from the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Pharris, Rev. Carles Walker, and Bro. Michael Webb officiating. Burial was in Cookeville City Cemetery.

Mr. Burroughs died Monday, Oct. 22 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He graduated from Livingston Academy in 1958 and retired after 29 years of service with Fleetguard. He was an avid baseball fan and a member of Eastwood Baptist Church for more than 33 years.

Born November 26, 1937, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Willie George and Stella (Stover) Burroughs.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Anna Ruth (Welch) Burroughs; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Robin Burroughs of Cookeville; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Curt Cooper of Cookeville; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Thurman Burroughs of Knoxville and W.G. and Kathy Burroughs of Jackson County; 3 sisters and a brother-in-law, Estell Thompson of Baxter and Loudell Dildine and Betty and Roy Webb, all of Cookeville; and 7 grandchildren, Amanda Branch and her husband Tony, Ryan Burroughs, Hunter Burroughs, Curtis Cooper, Chelsey Cooper, Cody Cooper and Bethany Moore and her husband Gavin, all of Cookeville.

Pallbearers were Cookeville Diamond Dawgs baseball team.

Honorary pallbearers were the 1958 graduating class of Livingston Academy and his fellow co-workers at Fleetguard.

Mable E. Dishman
Funeral services for Mrs. Mable E. Dishman, 83, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Terry McCloud officiating. Burial was in Hoover Cemetery.

Mrs. Dishman died Wednesday, Oct. 24 at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born January 2, 1924, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Billie and Ova (Ledbetter) Carr.

Survivors include her husband, Ray Dishman; a son, Charles Ledbetter of Livingston; a daughter, Judy Kinder of Ohio; 2 brothers, A.B. Carr of Livingston and Johnny Carr of Texas; a sister, Allie Dishman of Livingston; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Omer D. Haile
Funeral services for Mr. Omer D. Haile, 83, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Kirk Talley and Bro. Kenneth Bray officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Haile died Thursday, Oct. 18 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a retired customer service manager for Twin Lakes Telephone Corporation, a veteran of the United States Army who served in World War II, and a
member of Livingston Church of Christ.

Born August 29, 1924, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Willie T. and Evie (Anderson) Haile. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rozelle Kirby; and 2 brothers-in-law, Earnest Long and Preston Kirby.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Haile of Livingston; a daughter, Brenda Cook of Asheville, NC; a sister, Olene Long of Gainesboro; and a grandson, Rob Cook of Cookeville.

Pallbearers were Andrew Long, Jerry Long, Tim Long, Kenneth Kirby, Phillip Kirby, and Bob Cook.

Memorial contribuions may be made to Millard Oakley Public Library.

Roy Peterman
Funeral services for Mr. Roy Peterman, 83, of Rickman, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Kirk Talley officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Peterman died Saturday, Oct. 13 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a security guard for Parker Seals, a veteran of the United States Army who served during World War II, and a member of Livingston Church of Christ.

Born August 23, 1924, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Eubert
and Emma Lynn Peterman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Georgia Hensley.

Survivors include his wife, Lesby Peterman of Rickman; 2 sons, John Beason of Monterey and Jerry Beason of Lebanon; 2 daughters, Sharon (Beason) Phillips of Bay Springs, MS, and Sherry (Peterman) Pyle of Cookeville; 5 grandchildren, Michael Phillips of Bay Springs, Eric Beason and Mirissa Smith, both of Florida, Gere Beason of Nashville, and Jennifer Britt of Smyrna; and a special granddaughter, Katelynn Pyle.

Memorial contributions may be made to Happy Haven Children’s Home in Cookeville, through Speck Funeral Home.

Anna Jean (Matthews) Smith
Memorial services for Mrs. Anna Jean (Matthews) Smith, 71, of Donelson, will be conducted today, Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smith died Thursday, Oct. 25.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Iva Matthews; her second husband, Charles Byrd; a brother, Kent Matthews; and a step-son, Kenny Smith.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Delon Smith; a son, Jack Byrd; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Billy Wilson; 2 step-daughters, Linda C. Smith and Lisa Ann Smith; a granddaughter, Jessica Wilson and her husband Robby; a great-grandchild, Jayden Wilson; an aunt, Ruth Watson; and her first husband, Johnnie Carr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
