Claudia Bowman
Funeral services for Mrs. Claudia Bowman, 73, of Monterey, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Frank and Rev. Johnny Bowman officiating.
Burial was in Welch Memorial Cemetery in Monterey.

Mrs. Bowman died Monday, May 21 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a talented seamstress, using her talents in crocheting and embroidering as well as many other arts and crafts. She was a retired factory worker and a member of Hanging Limb Missionary Baptist Church.

Born April 30, 1934, in the Sunk Cane Community of Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Perry and Cora (Reid) Norrod. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Alan Bowman; a brother, Willie Ray Norrod; a sister, Jean Phillips; and a nephew, Larry Norrod.

Survivors include a brother, Owen Norrod of Monterey; 6 nephews and nieces, Tim Norrod, Jeff Norrod, Billy Phillips, Pat Norrod, Becky Stover, and Steve Norrod; 12 great-nephews and nieces; 1 great-great-niece, Rachel Phillips of Hanging Limb; and a special friend, Gene Peters of Monterey.

Leslie “L. D.” Franklin
Funeral services for Mr. Leslie “L.D.” Franklin, 72, of Jamestown, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2007, from the chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Ayers officiating. Burial was in Allardt Cemetery.

Mr. Franklin died Saturday, May 19 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center. He was a retired manager from Style Craft Manufacturing in Livingston, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and loved fishing, boating, and
deer hunting.

Born July 31, 1934, he was the son of the late Leslie “Les” and Flossie (Choate) Franklin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers-in-law, Paul Jones and Ralph Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou (Hurst) Franklin of Jamestown; a daughter, Priscilla (Franklin) Dunn of Hillsboro; 3 step-daughters, Pam Young and her husband Curtis of Sparta, Debbie Farmer and her husband Mike of Knoxville, and Angie Blevins of Livingston; 2 sisters, Billie Jean Williams of Jamestown and Ella Grey Jones of Allardt; 5 grandchildren, Leslie Dunn, Kristina Dunn, Ryan Dunn, Casey York, and Brad Ayers; and a great-grandson, Colin Ayers.

Pallbearers were Tommy Arron, Steve Jones, Mike Farmer, Curtis Young, Lyle Neal and Charles Franklin.

Honorary pallbearers were Milford Winningham, Marvin Bourland, Robert “Bob” Trowbridge, Hugh L. Ogletree, Marty Hurst, Jess Franklin, Jim Garrett and Brad Ayers.

John Mansell
Funeral services for Mr. John Mansell, 84, of Rock Island, were conducted at noon on Wednesday, May 23, 2007, from the chapel of McMinnville Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Wilhite and Bro. Bobby Gore officiating. Burial was in Mt. View Cemetery.

Mr. Mansell died Sunday, May 20. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II, a mechanic, service manager, and a member of Rock Island Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Littleton and Oregon Texas Haney Mansell; 4 brothers, Littleton Mansell, Wesley Mansell, Mapherd Mansell, and Riley Mansell; a sister, Cora Vaughn; and a grandson Barry Crouch.

Survivors include his wife, Pearl Mansell of Rock Island; a son, Kenneth Mansell of McMinnville; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Daphene and Jim Barkes and Diane and David Pendergraph, all of McMinnville; 8 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Louis Joseph Papesh
Mr. Louis Joseph Papesh, 63, of Cookeville, died Friday, May 18, 2007. The family chose cremation.

He was a carpenter and a member of the Catholic church.

Born June 29, 1943, in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of the late Jerry and Hilda (Weir) Papesh. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Jeffrey Koehler; 2 brothers, Tony Papesh and Frank Papesh; and a sister, Mary Papesh.

Survivors include 2 children, Kerry Quigley and Matthew Papesh, both of Cookeville; 4 step-daughters, Ashley Garrett, Heather Stover, and Misty Stover, all of Livingston, and Kelly Sorensen of Olmstead Township, OH; 4 brothers and 3 sisters-in-law, Joseph and Margaret Papesh of Naples, FL, Edward Papesh, John and Mary Ann Papesh of Bedford Heights, OH, and Robert and Josephine Papesh of Ravenna, OH; a sister and brother-in-law, Jo Ann and Mike Purnell of Georgia; 2 grandchildren, Taylor Quigley and Jordyn House of Cookeville; and 7 step-grandchildren, Megan Koehler, Sean Koehler, Kaylee Koehler, Makenzie Stover, Bryson Hargis, Cory Sorenson, and Kelsey Sorenson.

Walter Frederick “Fred” Parcell
Funeral services for Mr. Walter Frederick “Fred” Parcell, 68, of Alpine, were conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2007, at Grace Baptist Church with Bro. John Copeland and Roy DePolitte officiating. Burial was in Parcell Family Cemetery.

Mr. Parcell died Friday, May 25 at his home. He was a machinist and attended Grace Baptist Church and Cornerstone Christian Church.
Born July 29, 1938, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Walter F. Sr. and Margaret (Lamborn) Parcell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Molly (Young) Parcell.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Parcell; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret Suzanne and Rick Brown of Allons, Mary Helen and Fred Lindstrom of Maryville, and Bonnie Elizabeth and Kevin Sandrock of Alpine; a brother, Samuel Lamborn Parcell of Townsend; 34 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Rick Brown, Fred Lindstrom, Kevin Sandrock, Tommy Brown, David Brown, and Jared Lindstrom.

Heather Dawn (Sidwell) Robbins
Funeral services for Mrs. Heather Dawn (Sidwell) Robbins, 22, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2007, from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. A.J. Looper officiating. Burial was in Fellowship Cemetery.

Mrs. Robbins died Saturday, May 19, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born January 16, 1985, in Overton County, she was the daughter of
Debbie Sidwell of Livingston and Randall Kernell of Allons.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include 2 sons, Trenton Balajadia and Logan Balajadia, both of Livingston; a daughter, Alexis Balajadia of Livingston; 2 sisters, Whitney Sidwell and Kayla Sidwell, both of Livingston; a very special aunt, Rhonda Stewart of Livingston; the father of her children, Eddy Balajadia of Livingston; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, family, and friends.

Pallbearers were Jason Ledbetter, B.J. Frazier, Dwayne Stoner, Curtis Winningham, James Stewart, and Richie Pryor.
