Obituaries
Carl Q. Brawl
Funeral services for Mr. Carl Q. Brawl, 63, of Monon, IN, were conducted
at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, from the North Chapel of Needham-Storey-Wampner
Funeral Home with Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will be
in Grant Memorial Park.
Mr. Brawl died Monday, Jan. 22 at St. Vincent Medical Center in
Indianapolis, IN. He retired in 2000 from Magnum Express where he
was a truck driver. He was a member of Marion Eagles Lodge 227 and
loved to fish.
Born May 9, 1943, in Allred, he was the son of the late Perry and
Ider (Cantrell) Brawl.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Tammy
Brawl of Owingsville, KY; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jimmy
Thompson of Jonesboro, IN; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles
and Carol Brawl of Norwalk, CA; a sister and brother-in-law, Woodrie
and Dooley of Livingston; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren;
and caretakers, Kathy and Dail Brooks of Monon.

Valenor Norrod
Funeral services for Miss Valenor Norrod, 86, of Monterey, were
conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, from the chapel of
Goff Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Joe Hedgecough and Rev. Ronald
Norrod officiating. Burial was in Welch Cemetery.
Miss Norrod died Tuesday, Jan. 23 at Livingston Regional Hospital.
She was a retired garment factory worker and of the Baptist faith.
Born September 13, 1920, in Overton County, she was the daughter
of the late Virgil and Queen (Bilbrey) Norrod. In addition to her
parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers, R.B. Norrod, Cleo
Norrod, Dophie Norrod, Othor Norrod, and Cordell Norrod; and 2 sisters,
Dora Phillips and Erma Lee Phillips.
Survivors include a brother, Odell Norrod of Monterey; and a sister,
Verdon Norrod of Monterey.

Bernus G. "Bernie" Phillips
Funeral services for Mr. Bernus G. "Bernie" Phillips,
57, of Anderson, IN, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27,
2007, from the South Chapel of Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory
with Rev. Neil Butcher officiating. Burial was in East Maplewood
Cemetery in Anderson
Mr. Phillips died Wednesday, Jan. 24 at I.U. Medical Center in
Indianapolis, IN, after a brief illness. He was a 1967 graduate
of Anderson College, a 1995 graduate of Ball State, and retired
from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors after 33 years of service.
He was a member of Solar Masonic Lodge 734 Free & Accepted Masons,
Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, and Boy Scout Order of the
Arrow. He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed woodworking, golf, and
spending time with his grandchildren.
Born July 24, 1949, in Monterey, he was the son of Bruce and Mildred
(McCowan) Phillips. He was preceded in death by his grandparents;
a granddaughter, Lillie Yant; and a niece, Alicia Griffith.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife of 37 years,
Carol (Millspaugh) Phillips; a son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and
Megan Phillips; a daughter and son-in-law, Wendi and Matt Russell
of Cicero, IN; a sister, Cathy James and her husband, Larry; his
step-mother, Mary Phillips of Middletown; a half-brother, Gary Phillips
and his wife, Mary Gay; a half-sister, Laura Bratton and her husband,
Carl, of Michigan; his mother-in-law, Bertha Millspaugh; a brother-in-law,
Mike Millspaugh and his wife, Kelly; 3 grandchildren, Kelsey Phillips,
Nate Russell, and Josh Russell; and several uncles, aunts, nephews,
and nieces.
Donations may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 4011 West
200 South, Anderson, IN 46011.

J.C. Roberts
A public viewing was held at Hall Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan.
25, 2007, for Mr. J.C. Roberts, 62, of Livingston. No funeral services
were held, and the family chose cremation to honor Mr. Roberts'
request.
Mr. Roberts died Tuesday, Jan. 23 at Centennial Medical Center
in Nashville.
Born April 19, 1944, in Overton County, he was the son of the late
Johnny Roberts and Maggie (Norris) Taylor. In addition to his parents,
he was preceded in death by an infant sister.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Roberts of Livingston; a daughter,
Chandrea Collins of Maple Grove; a brother and sister-in-law, Jackie
and Edith Roberts of Livingston; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law,
Betty Sue and Fowler Pennington of Murfreesboro and Sharon and the
late Jessie Odom of Livingston; a grandson, Jacob Collins of Maple
Grove; and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.

38570, or dropped off at 2106 Cookeville Highway in Livingston.
