Two Livingston stores robbed by gunman
Two Livingston stores were robbed at gunpoint within three days.
Livingston Police Department is investigating the report of an armed robbery of Jerry’s Farm Fresh Foods on Saturday night, May 19 at approximately 10 p.m.
A lone gunman reportedly demanded money from the manager. The gunman is described as being a male around 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing around 250 pounds. An undetermined amount of money was taken.
Police are asking that anyone in the area of Overton Plaza on Saturday night around 9:30 p.m. who may have witnessed suspicious activity to call Livingston Police Department at (931) 823-6496.
Then on Monday, May 21, a masked gunman matching the same description robbed the Pamida in Livingston.
According to reports, three Pamida employees were exiting the building after turning off the lights and closing the store when a tall hefty man with a gun made them go back inside and into a restroom. When authorities arrived, the gunman was gone.
In both instances, the closer or closers had locked up and exited the building when they were approached by the gunman and told to unlock the building and go back inside.

Two killed in Saturday night crash

Two persons were killed and three injured in a traffic crash in Overton County on Saturday night, according to Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The one-vehicle crash occurred on State Route 293 one mile west of Highway 111 in Rickman at 9:51 p.m. May 19.
Killed was the driver of a 2005 Ford 4-door Johnny Brandon Robbins, 24, of Rickman, and one of four passengers, Heather D. Robbins, 22, of Livingston.
Injured were passengers Shane M. Hostutler, 20, of Livingston, Brian D. Murphy, 19, of Livingston, and a 17 year-old girl whose name was not released by THP.
Johnny Brandon Robbins was driving the car east on State Route 293 at a high rate of speed when he apparently lost control of the vehicle, according to a report by State Trooper Marty Philpot. The vehicle was overcorrected and the car ran off the road and hit a utility pole.
No one in the vehicle was using a seat belt, and with the exception of the driver and the front seat passenger, Shane M. Hostutler, the seating position of the occupants could not be determined by investigators. The THP report stated that, in the opinion of the trooper, use of safety belts would not have made a difference in the outcome of the crash.
Trooper Philpot’s report said drinking may have been a factor in the accident.
Trooper Neal Matthews and Lt. Jimmy Beaty assisted in the investigation.
