~ Local Happenings ~

•    Mr. and Mrs. Hassell Mitchell of Byrdstown were here Monday.

•    A.J. Mofield was in Cookeville Wednesday on business.

•    Vannie Ledbetter is critically ill in the Vanderbilt hospital.

•    Miss Minnie Little attended the banquet and business meeting of the Rebekah Assembly to Nashville Monday and Tuesday.

•    Mr. and Mrs. A.V. Ledbetter were in Nashville Tuesday to see their son, Vannie.

•    Mr. and Mrs. B. Eubank and daughter, Miss Lola, visited at W.D. Clark’s last Sunday.

•    Mr. and Mrs. Levi Harrison and family visited relatives near Byrdstown Sunday afternoon.

•    Mr. and Mrs. Sid Howard visited relatives at Willow Grove Sunday.

•    Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Coleman have returned home at Taylor’s Crossroads after a two week’s visit with their daughter, Mrs. Amon Norris of Nashville.

•    Trop Taylor of Pickett County attended court at Celina Saturday.

•    Mrs. Oscar Bowman and daughters, Ruth and Bettie, were in Monterey Sunday evening visiting relatives.

•    Mrs. Hatton Parrott and son, Edward, of Wirmingham visited her father here Friday.

•    Mrs. Lucian Clark and children of Windle visited her parents at Apine over the week-end before going to Detroit to join her husband who is employed there.

•    Barney Garrett of Plain Grove, who has been ill, is reported better.

•    Meadames J.K. Averitt and Martin Bell McCormick were in Cookeville Thursday.

•    Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tolbert and son, of Nashville, were the guests of Mrs. Tolbert’s sister, Mrs. Oscar Bowman, Sunday.
