Marriage Licenses issued during month of April
Marriage Licenses issed by H.C. Swallows, county court clerk for Overton
County, for the month of April are as follows:

Herman Reagan and Beulah Daniels; Elwood Markland and Mattie R. Norris; Dewey Milles and Gertie Tipton; Fred Smith and Katy Garrett; Edward Ledford and Lerion Ledford; Harlin C. Bennett and Gladys Talley; Hollis Smith and Ruby Anderson; Lester White and Annie Mae Upchurch; Vadus Sells and Mollie Smith; J.E. Davis and Margaret Irene Coe; Wilbert A. Yocum and Vauda Green; and Verdie Maynord and Mildred Brown.


Funeral services held for Mrs. Etta Bilbrey Beasley

Funeral services were held at the Eckle graveyard, near Sulphur, on
Sunday morning, May 2, for Mrs. Etta Bilbrey Beasley, 55, wife of Andrew J. Beasley, who died at her home near Oak Hill, fifth district of Overton
County, Saturday morning after a brief illness. The Rev. Paul Williams,
pastor of the Methodist Church at Rickman, conducted the funeral.

She was the daughter of the late Madison Bilbrey and Mrs. Mintie Cannon
Beasley. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Thomas Bilbrey, Mrs. James England, Misses Vaudie and Callie Beasley; and three sons, Chester, Lum, and Osnoe Beasley, of Overton County. Burial was at the Eckle Graveyard.

40 students to graduate from Livingston Academy
Forty students will graduate at exercises of Livingston Academy, which
will be held this evening at 7:30 o’clock in the high school auditorium. The
principal speaker for the occasion will be Andy Holt, executive secretary of
the Tennessee Educational Assocation, Nashville.

Johnnie Marie Averitte won the honor of valedictorian. Miss Averitte is
a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Averitte of Livingston.

The salutatory honor goes to Dick Mitchell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
D. Mitchell.

The senior class play, “The Rival Masqueraders”, a comedy in three acts
was presented Thursday night. May 6.
