Private Wright is the son of Mrs. Martha J. Wright, Star Route, Monroe, and former student of Central High School, Cookeville. He was enlisted October 30, 1936, at the Macon recruiting office. The quota of enlistments assigned the Macon office for February is being selected from among men between the ages of 18 to 25 and not less than 66 inches in height, Major Tidsley stated. Men meeting these requirements will be furnished with complete details regarding enlistment by the headquarters.
Funeral services held for Mrs. Martha Lousetta Dale The Butler and the Dale families have now figured prominently in civic and political affairs in Clay and Jackson counties for the past century. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are two daughters, Miss Lilly Dale, a teacher of Boone, N.C., and Miss Jessie Lee Dale of Livingston, also a teacher; one son, Perry Dale of Nashville; and three step-daughters, Mrs. Mona Barrett of Nashville and Misses Lura and Lizzie Dale of Livingston. Funeral services were conducted at the residence in Livingston, Tuesday, morning at 10 o'clock by the Rev. Henry C. Geiger and Elder B.H. Hunt, with burial in the Good Hope Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Dr. C.H. Dowell, T.C. Webb, Mike Brown, J.H. Myers, Dr. A.B. Qualls, Bedford Helman, Plumlee Dale, and C.H. Dale.
George W. Greer, 70, farmer of Third District, dies Surviving are his wife, Martha Peterman Greer; four daughters, Mrs. Pluma Johnson of Allons, Tenn.; Mrs. Audie Maynord and Mrs. Bessie Reeder of Smith county, and Mrs. Lissia Greer of Route 2, Livingston; and two sons, John and Mitchell Greer of Route 2. Funeral services will be held at the Hunter Family Graveyard in the Hunter Cove, Fourth District, on Wednesday, February 10, at 11:00 a.m. with burial at that place. Overton County News
